Missed you the first time, my bad. That's what comes of downloading the fight as soon as I see it. This is pretty cool, sounds like the theme from a homemade James Bond movie (although admittedly most homemade Bond movies available on your local youtube have shitty rock tracks as the theme). One of my favorites actually, too bad I already voted. Dig the harmonies, dig the sarcasm. I do wish you had better drum sounds, something that delivers a little more oomph.

Astrolamb: This is not a song that I would listen to repeatedly, but I appreciate the effort and I liked hearing something really new. There is inherent value in taking risks and doing something different. This took a lot of nerve and creativity.

R. Mosquito: I’m assuming this is a parody (or semi-parody?) of the genre instead of a sincere stab at it, but the fact that I’m not 100% certain suggests that it didn’t completely succeed as either. It was put together and performed very well, but I don’t think I need to hear it again anytime soon.

Sunday Guts: I keep on returning for repeat listens. I wish all my songs sounded like this. The ending is oddly touching and…. what…? comforting? "You may think you’re different, but someone else out there wants to talk about the same thing.” Sweet.

Angry No0b: Very tongue in cheek, I get that, but still not my thing. Turned me off from the start with the extraneous, pointless profanities, but maybe that’s just a symptom of my age.

Billy and the Psychotics: Inna Gadda Deep Reddit. Well performed/produced. Not a big fan of the over-the-top vocal hamming, but it fits with the song.

Berkeley Social Scene: Schadenfreude schadenfreude schadenfreude — I am cynically and shamefully pleased to hear a song from BSS that is less than a total slam dunk. It’s still good, still strong, still worth a bunch of votes, but a B-side at best.

johndisk0: Impressive. But not really a song. During that diatribe there are several great takes on the subject, why not pick a few and write a song around them instead of running through them all at once? The declaratory tone occasionally sounds smug. Having said all of that, you are to be commended for doing something different and taking risks.

Lunkhead: Catchy and sweet. I like the 8-bit bass, and the build up and harmonies at the end.

Abjure!: Cut and pasted from my comments elsewhere: I did a quadruple-take while listening to Abjure's "Deep Sub-Reddit" - it was like, "Oh, this sounds nice," then, "Wait, this sounds familiar, where do I know those lyrics from," to "Hey, this is a total ripoff," followed by "Holy crap this is genius." I listened to it over and over, then listened to Yellow Lasers for the first time in years, then listened to the Abjure song again. Freakin' hilarious […]. Someone should forward this to Mr. Hess, I'd like to think he'd get a real kick out of it.

Inflatable Vegetables: Reliably listenable. I envy your ability to find great melodies. The bridge didn’t really do it for me, but it doesn’t detract from the song.

Jerkatorium: Chumpy and me. Mostly Chumpy (which is why the song is any good). Chumpy came up with that goddamn earwormy melody that I still can’t get out of my head. Jerkatorium’s best song to date, and it’s all Chumpy.

So the votes are in. Thanks everyone who reviewed and voted for us, and congrats to Lunkhead for writing a great song and winnning!

I've been listening to all the songs throughout the week and I thought I'd share my top 3 picks.

#1 Sunday Guts: I kept coming back to this song this week. I heard a lot more things, like the the awesome way everything drops out for a beat right before the bridge, like your heart just stopped. The drums and guitars really sound good to me, is that a human drummer in your band? I noticed the vocals right away, and they're great throughout the song. The lyrics clever and fun (I also enjoy CAT-5 cable porn) and the bridge just makes me happy and yes I do think I'm diff-e-rent.

#2 Lunkhead: Still really like this song, but haven't really heard anything new with more listens, so my original glowing review still stands.

#3 R. Mosquito: I really like how heavy and badass this song is. This is the only entry that makes Reddit sound cool and or dangerous, which is quite a feat. I also love the lyrics, which kick so much ass, I just have to type them.

I don't know how to say a real 'thank you' without sounding sentimental or self-deprecating. I really appreciate this review. Thank you.
