Mind making those events public, for those of us who have decided that we don't want to actually have a Facebook account anymore?

Just to clarify, while I started that thread, Niveous has been editing the post to include the updated info on the new venues, I believe.

Niveous, when you have a chance, can you give us an update on Spike Hill? Are we confirmed there yet? I don't see a post from you saying that's a 100% done deal.

What's the street address for the Firehouse Space? It's not listed ANYWHERE.
Also if you give Niveous rights to edit those FB events he can fill in the details.

There's a hot tub and a double professional Thermador Oven at the Firehouse Space. Just sayin'.

1. Both events are already listed as public. I don't think I can make them any more public. I'm sure all info will be mirrored here, Fluffy.
2. Niveous needs to RSVP before I can make him an admin of the event.

I'm at the beach at the moment and won't have much time to monitor things, so I've made Sam and Roy admins of both FB events. Sam, when Niv RSVPs, you should be able to add him to the list of Admins. (Click "See All" on the guest list on the left side of the page, to view a list that will allow you to give ppl admin privs.)

Okay fighters of Song. The last few hours have been madness but I think we've come out okay.

I get a letter from the Spike Hill booker (note- he contacted me, not the other way around, and offered us the spot on Saturday) and he told me that Spike Hill could not do the Saturday show. So, I went into full panic mood. The result was booking us a new venue.

The Saturday show will be at:
The Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden
29-19 24th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11102
from 3 to 10.

You read that right, they are giving us 7 hours to play.

As disappointing as it is to not be in the middle of Williamsburg Walks anymore (and it's weird that the Spike Hill guy would offer and then rescind the venue), it's pretty awesome that we have a space for a full 7 hours. Looks a bit out of the way for those of us relying on mass transit, but I'm sure we'll live.

Also on a personal note I'll be glad to NOT be right in the middle of an area where I had a year's worth of very bad/stressful memories. I was actually freaking out a bit planning my subway trips there so this takes a load off my mind.

[EDIT] I just mentioned this to my friend/coworker who is much more familiar with NYC and he said:
oh fuck
you're playing the beer garden?
that's big
on Saturday? holy fuck that's going to be crowded
on a Saturday afternoon when the weather's good, it is super, super crowded there. it's a big outdoor area too. you will have a very large audience.
So, AWESOME.

The booker made an offer and didn't seem to have the club's full backing. The club couldn't handle the booking staff wise. As for getting to the Bohemian Hall by mass transit, it's 2 blocks from the Astoria/Ditmars stop on the N/Q line.

PA? Yes.
Mics? Yes.
Stands? I don't know.
Cables? See stands.
Drums? No. But we have drums (they have arrived, someone needs to help me with setup and breakdown because I am clueless.)
Amps? I don't think so.

Hey, Niv, thanks for the last-minute scramble. What a coup! This place looks great! (Have you guys seen their site? This venue is huge!) Plus, awesome beer selection is huge plus.

OK, so we still have no amps for either show, which seems like a real problem, if people are expecting to play along with a drummer. Not that you aren't dealing with enough stuff, Niv, but can you and/or Roy and/or anybody else in the area possibly look into renting and transporting amps? At this point, you may need to rent a small moving van for the weekend instead of getting a ZipCar, if you're going to have to haul around a drum kit and a couple amps, unless you can get a ZipCar with enough storage room for all that gear...

Does anybody local at least have guitar cables and tuners that we can use? We will probably need to supply those ourselves even if we can rent and transport amps.

I can probably get a small Peavey amp (I think it's 40 watts). Will see about another.
I have a large band-style music stand.
I have a bunch of cables and two tuners.

I really don't want to make any guarantees, but I may be able to squeeze my guitar amp in the car.
This is it... Tiny but decent: http://backstage.musiciansfriend.com/pr ... tId=H05532

and i still plan on bringing a mic stand, mic, acoustic/electric guitar, cords, drum sticks.

Guess I'll be bringing a few cables and mics. No room in my luggage for stands though. Should I bother bringing my Microcube as a modeling amp+mic equivalent? A certain gear slut laughed at me for that setup in Boston, and then said gear slut ended up relying on it when it was basically all that was available. NOT THAT I'M BITTER.

I can help set up drums. I don't talk about it, but I play. I'm not very good. About as good as I play the electric guitar. Which is shocking. But I know where stuff goes in the event of an emergency and I'm there. I will probably be less spastic by then too, I'll have been here over a week :)

I can't bring anything large (plane travel and all), but I was planning on sticking my guitar pedals and some patch cables in my bag: 2 distortion pedals, a chorus pedal, and a tuner.

All guaranteed to make any guitar sound like crap. :D

We need two mic/stand/cable setups, for vocals. If we had 3-4, that would be nice. I don't think mics w/o stands will be very useful. Folks would probably be better off leaving them at home than taking them along w/o stands. We at least need cable+tuner pedal+power supply/battery for tuner+cable for every guitar and for the bass. It's always handy to have some extra instrument cables too. I guess we'll need 1-2 for a keyboard? Beyond that if people are bringing extra stuff, just make sure you keep very close track of what's yours, or preferably label it somehow, as at the end of the night it can be difficult to sort all that out. You probably shouldn't bring anything you're not afraid to lose, unless you're going to really watch it.

Sadly I will not be attending this Song Fight Live.
I was wondering if the shows are going to be captured on video and posted on the internet?
If no one has a camera, i could maybe send mine with Lunkhead, if he's up for it.
