Well that was shocking.

I didn't think I'd be as surprised just because I was expecting to be surprised.

But I still was. You are a true master...of weird.

Well, I'm not working on anything this odd...for GOM, anyway. But I do this kind of stuff every day for breakfast.

I like the dynamic progression of the piece. I like the tribal rhythm on the left. I like that there is now a snare drum in the song, at least for the last bit. I note that you enunciate much more clearly than Chris Martin. I like the sneering quality your voice has in places. It arguably does a better job of speaking to the lyrics than the original. It's at least not so sterile.

Oh and I'm very sorry you had to furnish the songs yourself. I was much busier than I expected to be for most of last year...and still am. And unfortunately, I am less inspired now to finish what I'm doing than to make some wildly experimental piece. And my life in general is weird at best. Well, thanks again. I like this thing a little more each time.

Oh yeah, I was going to mention this. I was thinking about it today. I was a big Satriani fan until I heard about this. It just seems like an obvious money-grab. Though he does have somewhat of an argument, at least legally. And so why is Coldplay any more entitled to royalties than he is if he is found to have indeed written the melody first?

Bill! Locomotive Breath is wild. The Residents take over Amtrak and commute to Baltimore. This is trippy, man. Thanks!

Wow, this is really cool. I'm not familiar with the original -- neither Coldplay's nor Satriani, but this is pretty damn cool.

Does it go the other direction in the southern hemisphere?

I had not seen that. Thanks. It does seem Coldplay is treading on thin ice there.

I just want to point out that my song is in no way related to either one (which should be obvious.) Also, my title is even different than Coldplay's, as mine is The Life Lives (as a Copy), alluding to the many references in my song about cloning and the Catholic church. All other similarities are purely coincidental.

Hey. I'm officially bailing on this project. My apologies to Enter it in the Art Show. I really liked all the songs you chose and I started working on one, but I've got problems I have to deal with and they're bigger than SongFight. Sorry everybody.

That's a bummer Frankie, I was looking forward to hearing some FBF. But yes, real life has to take priority. The beauty of music is that it's always there, so there will always the next time.

Well, I woke up with a neck ache, but then I realized I fell asleep on a goldfish cracker, so when it fell off while I was making coffee, I felt fine. But thanks for asking, Niv. :P

True to my hypothesis, your humour is as weird as your music.

Now have we all seen this?

you're welcome! i was glad to have gotten your list, and then i had to decide between this and "america."
i have a lot of bits i'd like to re-do or change about my track, but i had to stop working on it for now.
i might even try out my ian anderson imitation again instead of just singing like i usually sing.

As did I!

Coldplay must be one of the world's most appallingly bland bands - and when the revolution comes, they will be first against the wall. That damn song has been on constant rotation on the commercial radio station that the people in my office insist on having blaring into my personal space - but I must admit, there is an insidious catchiness to that melody.

Your version makes listening to it acceptable!

That seems like a load of crap to me. So the melody is slightly similar, so what?

All that tells me is that Joe Satriani is just as crap as Coldplay. And I already knew that. It's like Matchbox 20 complaining that Nickelback stole all their great ideas.

How is it some current stiffers have found it in them to enter other fights during this period and still not finish their GOM?

If my stiffer entered a fight and hasn't given me my GOM, I'll be very disappointed in that person and completely lose respect for said stiffer, so it would be best that I never find out. If my stiffer has run on hard times or had to attend more important life issues or maybe couldn't pay for internet or the computer broke, then I apologize for the above and hope things get better for you.
