Musician's Friend has been blowing through a number of stupid deals today. It seems like Tascam is unloading a few different products and now the TASCAM iUR2 USB Audio/MIDI Interface is back for $40 again. You can read all the back and forth above about Tascam legacy products, but even for $40 if this works for you for a while it is a pretty good deal.

The current STotD is the Focusrite iTrack Solo Audio Interface for iPad, Mac and PC Restock for $80. These things look really great if you only need one mic at a time.

Today's deal is M-Audio Sputnik tube large diaphragm condenser mic, half off, at $250:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid

I read a couple reviews of this mic and they were very good. Half off is a much bigger discount than usually applied to stupid deal items, too. You could buy two and use them as a matched pair!

I don't really need a mic, but I'm tempted because of the discount and good reviews and fact that I don't have a tube mic. But maybe somebody with more mic knowledge can point out a better option for anybody who actually wants to buy something like that.

Today's deal is $99 for a matched pair of M-Audio Pulsar II small diaphragm condenser mics, with "a stereo mounting bar, hard mounts, risers, windscreens, and cloth bags, as well as a handsome and functional wooden storage/travel case". These seem to get generally positive reviews. This would be a nice relatively cheap upgrade for anybody who's recording acoustic guitar, or percussion or drums. Listen to some songs by Josh Woodward if you want to hear what your acoustic can sound like recorded with the kind of setup you can have with mics like these:

http://sfjukebox.org/artists/Josh%20Woodward

Sounds a million time better than plugged in acoustic.

Today from 6am to 6pm (it doesn't say if that's Eastern or Pacific or what) Musician's Friend is going to have a new stupid deal every hour. The one that I see up right now is a Blue multi-pattern large diaphragm condenser mic for only $229. This seemed like a pretty good deal, but, I searched around and noticed you can by it directly from Blue via Amazon Prime for the same price.

On another note Sweetwater is having some pretty awesome deals this week too:

Here's a weird deal where you get a pair of nice Audio Technica headphones and a digital recorder bundled together for less than what you might pay for just the headphones alone.

Get the Audio-Technica ATH-50x headphones for $129 with free shipping, here using coupon code M50XDEAL :

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVL ... GZGHL8F7T8

I have two pairs of these. They are pretty good for listening, tracking, and mixing. Of course, keep in mind the standard caveats when mixing on headphones (e.g. they exaggerate the bass and the stereo panning).

Oh, nice. I love my ATH-M50 which are my main pair for listening these days (when I'm not listening on my monitors). It looks like the only difference between the M50 and M50x is being able to easily detach the cable, though - are there other reasons for the $30 difference or is that it?

That may be the only difference, functionally:

The M50s may be cheaper too because they are an older discontinued model vs. the current M50x.

Ah. For me that's a nice-to-have but not enough to be burning a $160 hole in my pocket for.

Yeah, same here. I actually really had wanted to get some headphones with a removable cord, but these seem to built pretty well, so hopefully that won't become a thing. Even if it does, hacking on a new cord is possible...

You guys did read my post, right, that you can use a coupon code to get the M50x's for $129? I'm a bit confused about the "$30 difference" thing as I don't see the M50's on Amazon for $100.

Ah, I did miss the coupon code, and was just looking at the price on the site (which is $30 higher than the M50).

But still, I already have the M50, and don't need another pair of pretty much identical headphones.

Yeah, I just meant that it's not enough of an upgrade to justify buying another pair.

Sure, but I just wanted to make sure it was clear to anybody who read this that there was an additional discount, since apparently I didn't make that clear enough in my original post.

Those headphones are back at $129 w/o any coupon code or anything, as a "flash deal" that ends in about 12 hours.

I noticed that they came in other color options as well, and while the really cool-looking ones are still $180, the white ones are also only $130. For what it's worth.

And I went ahead and ordered a pair, for reasons.

Today only Hello Music is offering 10% off guitars with the coupon code EGGHUNT10:

http://www.hellomusic.com/guitars/

They have lots of guitars, from cheap stuff to really nice stuff.

This Strat is very similar to the one I bought in high school that I still use, very versatile with a double-locking tremolo and a humbucker in the bridge, can cover a lot of styles, and it looks gorgeous. $567 after 10% off.
