I have a couple of their songs downloaded, and they are pretty fantastic. I've meaning to get one of their CDs for a while.

"Just," in this case, means "In 2003," in which year I put it at the top of my annual list. Great great great album.

R. Mosquito presents: vague and brief record reviews.

The new mission of Burma album sounds just like an old mission of burma album.

The !!! LP rox. The tracks are too long.

The Bloc Party LP is overshadowed by their excellent singles.

The new ministry album starts out with a sample of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. Then it becomes Psalm 69.

Bright Eyes have two new albums. The one I thought would suck I liked, and the one I thought I'd like sucked.

Jennifer Gentle picked their Syd Barret-allusion-name aptly.

The new Lou Barlow album is overcompressed. Even for Lou.

The indie kids'll love the new Stars album, anyway.

A good thing?
reve wrote:The Bloc Party LP is overshadowed by their excellent singles.
Considering I am not over-enamoured with their singles, I will take this as ample warning and steer clear.

Which is which? I am faced with the two albums and trying to choose one is a nightmare enough that I probably won't end up buying either without some guidance1

Did I mention already that the Joanna Newsom album is pretty good but as I predicted several months ago, rather samey? I'm fairly sure I did. Anyhoo ....
