It's back!

We changed up the format a little (one song every 14 days) but we also have an archive, a new website, and hopefully more stability. So if you have some time and an itch to make a song, please come and try out the returning Purple Reign Compilations.

Really oughtta rename "Favorites" on the front page of the new site to something more... accurate, methinks.

Ain't my sandbox, yeah, I know.

Ugh. A screw up in my html. I left off the mp3 at the end of the links on Partyup. I'll fix that tonight.

Well, I'm glad to see that this was due yesterday, and not today like I thought it was. Not only is the song I recorded the worst one of the year, by far, but also one of the worst songs I have ever recorded. P-frickin'-U! Sorry I didn't make it in time, but nobody would have thanked me for submitting the swill that is stinking up my recorder. Time to hit delete and move on.

That's untrue. Why? Because you would've been a person who submitted a song. Sadly, no one did.

Huh. I'm sorry to hear that nobody sent in a song. I'll mix it down and send it in, if you want it. But honestly, it is awful. I'll go mix it down and check in later.

It's okay. You don't need to send it if it's not something you're enjoying.

I just need to figure out where to go from here. Zero songs and only 3 votes should be a big flashing sign to me.

Too late, it's in the mail. Give it a listen, take an aspirin, and then decide what to do. I won't mind if you just chuck it, but the thought that maybe some kid in Podunk, Iowa will accidently download it and go "what the hell is wrong with P****e?" is kind of amusing. Good luck with your decision making. :)

You know, earlier today I was thinking about this, so I went to purpletapes, and it was all old stuff. You might want to redirect that page if this one is the new site.

He says: "The internet's completely over. I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it.
"The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good.
"They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."
Wha.....

I'm looking forward to hearing the new album. Fun read.
"Time for another surprise. "Come," he says, and like an excitable Willy Wonka, he leads me down corridors lined with glinting platinum discs to a lounge where his three talented backing singers, Shelby Johnson, Olivia Warfield and Elisa Fiorilla, are waiting by an ebony futuristic grand piano"

Daaadeee, I want back up singers! *stomps foot* 8)

That article is insane.

I should write 10 songs with famous Prince titles. Make the songs about things like the internet and aethetism and then get some bands to record them and put the whole thing on Bandcamp.

It's awesome how he's figured out how to avoid torrents, cause that would hurt his CD sales, yo.

I was a little surprised when he was talking about how bad all this digital stuff is, while plugging his new CD.

But I do think he's a genius, musically, and if he's going back to some of his earlier musical styles and writing cleaner lyrics... this could be an awesome CD!

He adds earnestly: "Playing electric guitar your whole life does something to you. I'm convinced all that electricity racing through my body made me keep my hair."
