Don't feel any rush from my end. I'm an inveterate stiffer myself, having once stiffed GlennCase for over two years.

As for the list's difficulty, I feel that only the jazz and sacred harp tunes were inherently difficult. Angeline Baker and Down the Road are relatively simple at their cores; the difficulty of the arrangements I posted stems mostly from the embellishments that the musicians added to the tunes. Anyone can play Purple Haze but nobody can play it like Hendrix. Same goes for a lot of these trad tunes and god knows it doesn't stop me from murdering Stephen Foster tunes on a weekly basis. Be glad that none of you have ever had to sit through my shit arrangement of Hard Times Come Again No More.

The assignments went out around November 7th. You appeared on the scene on December 21st with a list of songs. You're not officially in BUT you did unstiff a stiffee (I feel dirty just typing that), so perhaps someone would be kind enough to cover one of the songs on LSK's list:

That's a very tempting list. I was just listening to Gronlandic Edit last night. Not ready to commit, though, not with my We Keep Them Alive entry so up-in-the-air.

the music video for that lcd soundsystem song is cool... starts all david bowie heroes then gets crazy... also why am i hearing pere ubu when i listen to that of montreal song?

Actually I was really surprise by this song, Id never heard it or the rest of your list before, so I listened, and whaddaya know, I have heard this one before. But not as it is, I know it as the Father Ted theme. Awesome. There was no way I wasnt going to cover this one then. Im also considering doing a full on \m/etal version of My lovely horse now. hehe

Leaf requested "Things I do For Money" by The Northern Pikes. I saw them open for Peter Frampton in Ventura in 1989 and they were just a great live band - bought a CD the next day - so this was fun to try to do "my way."

My freakin mixing board is still in Vancouver getting fixed... the tech told me that it required a whole re-build on the power supply and whatever...


I have now been told "three weeks". We'll see about that. i've decided to get an M-Audio lightbridge though, that way my board and a bunch of other stuff I got can all firewire in to the computer... mothball my Delta 1010 (I was only direct out of the board into the 1010 anyway, kinda redundant)... but when that thing shows up I can then get back to making some music on the PC WITHOUT my board using an ultragain 8 xlr preamp device that is also lightpiped... which will be damn sweet.

But the youtube videos you lined too were so INTIMIDATING.
