I love the reflectiveness that Welcome To portrays. So simple and effective.

The title Welcome To _____ invites an unusually wide array of interpretations, and I thought it woud be difficult for someone to come up with cover art that would suit a large percentage of entries. The art submitted stands up to the test elegantly. Very nice work.

Yes, both covers are neato.

I like the main page crop of the clip art photo.

I'm also greatly impressed by how Bort chose to incorporate the blank line into the wt cover. It's very powerful.

I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for the lateness of my cover art this week. Work has been very busy and I have been meaning to get some art done but it just hasn't happened. I started some art for "Rockopolo..." but it never got finished. I even came up with a good idea for Brimming but never found a moment to bang that out.

Just wanted to say I didn't forget about it this week, it just didn't seem to happen for me.

I had a "vishnu cycle" idea as well, but also had no time to execute it. I shared it on IRC and people thought it was cute (and potentially offensive), though, so I regret not doing it.

Seems to be the trend this week. I got halfway through my Vishnu art this week but didn't have the time to polish it after working overtime at my job. It was the god Vishnu with his many arms, juggling the words Rockopolous... Eternal.

Blue said he was going to create something for Rockopolous tho ...

So I'm guessing that both titles are competitive each week and that Bort hasn't claimed a particular color lately?

My idea:

The scene: A laundromat. Vishnu, in plain clothes, is leaning against the wall, waiting for a washing machine to finish. His upper two hands are holding a book, his lower-left hand is holding an iPod, and his lower-right hand is in his pocket.

The laundromat's window has the words "Rockopolousaninjananophone Laundry - Eternally Open" in a copperplate font.

Outside, Vishnu's white horse (from his 10th avatar form) is tied to a bike rack.

I'm going to default on a cover this week of "Rockopolo..." and "Brimming with tears". Sorry Spud. I'll try for a great one next week.

I was going to get a member of my school's Indian Society to wear eir traditional garb on top of a washign machine. I totally didn't see all of the words in the title. (Bravo, 15-16!)

yes! i love it, because it is the desolation and longing, that the title reminds me of. It represents loss, darkness, yet the rose in the light.
It's really beautiful.

thanks tawny!

Wow, thanks much everyone! Makes me happy that I decided to stay up late last night and play with my pastels. :D

I enjoyed the Evan cover this week, too. Made me giggle.

Off topic, but what ever happened to the SF-inspired emoticons? Those were more fun than
