I couldn't finish my song in time without stressing myself out or waking up the neighbors, so I used my song research to submit some
art for Far From Sucking instead.
For the curious, my
original list of notes is online. Javascript required o'course. Might take a while to load.

I was so happy he put that together.

It's awesome funny and it saved me some sanity Sunday night in the artwork department.

Great work, Bortwein. You did an excellent job with a title like "Applesauce Baptism".

Sorry Bort, if I had seen this I wouldn't have done one - not that I think it would compare with yours, but just to say I wasn't ignoring your request. Just didn't see it until now.

Well then I guess I'm off the hook. Looks like there are covers for all 3 done already. I have been a bit busy as usual.

regarding peppermint patty: it looks cool, and well-done, but i feel like there is some kind of hidden (or perhaps not-so hidden) meaning that i am not quite grasping. am i stupid? can somebody explain what i've missed?

Not really, you can imagine your own story from it. But in my head, Peppermint Patty had an unfortunate accident when she ventured into the forest of the veggies.

Voice, did you miss the figure made of candy laying on the ground? I almost did.

actually, no, i saw the person made of candy, imagining the person's name to be Patty... i was just unsure of the circumstances whereby she'd be lying down-- apparently dead or comatose-- in a forest of asparagus and stuff.
i liked the picture a lot, as i stated, and had deciphered as much as i have explained here -- i just wanted to make sure there wasn't some hidden meaning i hadn't picked up on.

Is the text supposed to be legible? I recommend putting a black border around the letters (if you're using Photoshop 7 or later, it's easy - just go to 'blend options' on the layer and turn on 'stroke').

that is pretty cute, bryce. it'd be cool if the front page one was just the big black head on the yellow BG

If you've got time to re-do it, I'd reinterpolate the sign image to say 300 dpi before enlarging it (or rather, instead of enlarging it if you see what I mean) that pixel fluff is the only bad thing in an otherwise cracking image.
