I've been listening to "Shake It" by Tom Waits over and over and over. It's one of the coolest junkiest most sinister songs ever, and I'm way into it. "I feeeeel like a preacher wavin' a gun around... shake-a shake-a shake-a shake it baaaaaabaaaaaay."

whoowhee! Just received my new Mudvayne!!!
It came a great new CD case with a pop tab thingy and it's a dual disc: CD one side, DVD other side. Crazy!
Have listened to the first few tracks, and I can honestly say, nobody brings the heavy like Mudvayne. Like, holy shit.

Anyone who is a Talking Heads fan should know that for the first time ever, The Name of this Band is Talking Heads is available on CD, thanks to Rhino Records. Rather than just remaster the 17 tracks from the double LP, they've added 16 more tracks from the original recordings making it pretty much the coolest fricking thing I could ever ask for. Rhino Rules.
As an Adult Swim cartoon fan I checked out the MC Chris show a few days ago, and while I did enjoy myself for the most part, I would not recomend seeing him. He spent most of his hour long set joking and bantering with the audience, only occasionally taking the the time to deliver some of that Hip Hop music I'd paid 12.50 to listen to. He also relied heavily on his backing tracks. Also my girlfriend and I were older than about 98% of the people there. She's a teacher and actually spotted a couple of her students.

I saw mc chris last weekend and enjoyed it. You shouldn't think of him as a musician, but as a comedian, since that all he really is. It's not about the music.
On a much more bizarre note, I somehow ended up smoking with mc chris after the show. It was really weird, and he's actually kind of a douche in person. But he did say they're making an Aqua Teen movie slated for this December, and that's awesome.

I'm digging the new Books album Lost and Safe right now. I think it seems a little more song-driven than their previous stuff, and I think that's pretty cool.

I feel like I'm the only one who hates chk-chk-chk. It's a great name. But I saw them live at the Siren Festival in 2003 and they were terrible. M the Heatmiser (my son) actually fell asleep during their set.

My guess is that either it's just not your thing, or they probably suffer from off-night syndrome. But when they're on, they're all the WAY on!
