One of Folds' better solo songs, but I'm more interested in the mesmerizingly simplistic video style. On the one hand, it's just some words and crude graphics. On the other hand, the camera dynamics must have made this video very difficult to animate, and there's plenty of bells and whistles to keep it visually interesting. Does anyone know of any other videos like this?

I don't know where to post this: it belongs to the How To (build a solar-powered guitar?) thread, the "Sold Out" review thread, maybe the politics thread -- it sure is an awesome Youtube video. It's not just cool, it's good on top. Ladies & gentlemen, John Hunt with "Alice Cooper & Iggy Pop Selling Insurance":
PS Jon: that Ben Folds vid is neat. Theme: neat. Music: meh. Video: neat.
Watch Morello in the solo. He's definitely using the whammy pedal, but it's nowhere near him. wtf? He has someone else operate it for him?
Probably an auto-wah. I have a couple on my POD. If I do a chain of fx with the auto-wah, I can achieve that sound, I'm pretty sure. I've accidentally come up with similar.

Looks to me like he's using the pedal - just before the solo he skips backwards from his spot in front of the monitors to his pedal set up, and right after the solo he backs off that spot to face the drummer.

Yeah, whammy pedal, then the funky noise at the end of the solo sounds like a ring modulator perhaps.
