Holy shit, you mean Spud and I got piss-drunk and then spent all night renting and setting up circus tents in some random person's back yard in Tacoma?

I personally thought that the 'little person' you hired to walk around with a sombrero filled with chips and guacamole was pretty tasteless, fluffy, but you and Spud were so wasted that I just couldn't reason with either of you.

Does Spokane have a bowling alley? Because what songfight live needs more of is bowling.

Make no mistake. We do have bowling alleys. Lilac Lanes is probably the best known. Complete with Cosmic Bowling and such.

ROCK!

This is even off-topic to the off-topic stuff, but there's a burger place in (or near) Spokane that we went to on our way out of town that had wicked cheap burgers and it was awesome. Does it ring a bell, Glenn? Kind of like a low-budget McDonald's, if you can imagine that...

I am fairly certain you are referring to <a href="http://chefmoz.org/United_States/WA/Spo ... Dick's"</a>

It is in downtown Spokane, And yes, it is exactly like a cheap McDonalds.

So, would it be open to the general, non-music-playing public? Because I know some people that would probably like to come. (one of them is me of course)

Absolutely. I believe this goes for all of the songfight live shows. The attitude is normally "The more the merrier".

I would not be surprised if our show attracts a big crowd, since there is so little going on at times, especially where the under 21 crowd can attend.

I am beginning to think that <a href="http://www.fatconcerts.com/109/">"Fat Tuesday's"</a> might be a perfect venue for this.

1. They have an area for the under 21 crowd (by the stage), and a bar area for the 21 and ups.

2. It is in downtown Spokane, but there is $2.50 parking for 10 hours available about a block or two away from the venue.

Mind you, this is a LONG time from now. I might find a better place to go with, but right now it looks very promising.

<a href="http://www.bravobsp.com/">The Big Easy</a> ALSO has a minors area seperated from the 21 and up area, but seems less likely to book us. The parking is also a lot less reasonable.

ROCK!

Ok, we're talking 2006 here. This would be plenty of time to save up if you say, wanted to go on vacation somewhere outside of your home state.

Also, I'm no rich guy but so far, from Tampa I have traveled to Lancaster PA, SEATTLE WASHINGTON (opposite corner of the contiguous united states from me), and Austin Texas. I also have to figure out a way to scrape up money to hit Boston in August.

It's mostly a matter of will to get out to these things. Not completely, I know, but alot of it is a matter of willing yourself to the location.

actually (based on subject matter of certain songs) i'd guess there isn't much encouragement needed for that...

I know it's way too early to thinking dates for this - but is there an envelope that SF06 is likely to fall in - ie. is it likely to be in your summer holiday times?

I'm definitely taking a tax-deductable holiday next year so I'm starting to look for conferences to travel to - and if I know SF will be in say, July/August - I might be able to time things right.

Also, if anyone knows of any Environmental Law/Coastal Engineering/Civil Engineering conferences in their area in northern summer '06, let me know. I need a valid reason for the taxman to pay for my holiday.

Every SongFight Live! has been in the summer, so far, afaik. Northern Hemisphere summer.

Spokane is two hours away from Moscow, Idaho, which has a pretty well-regarded engineering college. They have different stuff, some of it esoteric... I dunno if you'd be able to sneak the Traffic Signal Summer Workshop (no joke) past your employers as a legitimate trip to the US, but there it is, anyway. :P
