FYI The pages now show all the judges scores unless you are on a small screen.

I think it was just the nature of the process to write the song (correspondence over a week, with an unsure sense of how the story would end) resulted in me having to submit the song to public scrutiny way before I had decided I was comfortable with it, especially because it was dealing with topics that I don't want to disrespect even within the context of an obviously wacko song. I had a panic attack about it. Sorry for the drama!j$ wrote: drama was for

Glad to see you back in. Now could you perhaps un-remove your lyrics? Won't let it influence my review, still it would be kind of you.BenKrieger wrote:I think it was just the nature of the process to write the song (correspondence over a week, with an unsure sense of how the story would end) resulted in me having to submit the song to public scrutiny way before I had decided I was comfortable with it, especially because it was dealing with topics that I don't want to disrespect even within the context of an obviously wacko song. A lot of people don't want to talk about it. I was glad that Micah was supportive during the listening party. He did indeed do a song on the same topic and told me about it then. On Rd 3, I felt what I did was a risky move. It's not my normal M.O.PepperJane wrote:In response to RangerDenni's commentary in the lyrics department, to the Eggshells DJRD track. I went to post my tardy shadow fight lyx and got educated and felt like offering something, which is odd because I usually say NOTHING on this broader topic field.
Seems like it paid offRangerDenni wrote: On Rd 3, I felt what I did was a risky move. It's not my normal M.O.
I also have a lot of thoughts about (society's attitude toward) periods (and people who have them) but since I am not a period-haver myself I'm not always sure how to talk about it... my "House Red" entry was an attempt to normalize it a little bit within the context of a "sexy" song (we'll see... sexy songs are definitely not my forte). Not that periods are intrinsically sexual but so much of sexuality is so culturally constructed already so why not? Anyway here I am working on this song and then I hear DJ Ranger Den tackle the matter in a much more direct and daring and interesting way, which I think paid off great.RangerDenni wrote:A lot of people don't want to talk about it. Haha I forgot about that RHCP song entirely. Similar sentiment perhaps but very different sonics. As you can hear if they ever post the damn fight...PepperJane wrote:or have you just been listening to a lot of Keidis lately?!!!!!
Fight posted. Seems like the current bottleneck in the process is Fightmaster Jr.'s rock and roll lifestyle and how that interferes with him relaying to me the title from Deepthroat.MicahSommer wrote:As you can hear if they ever post the damn fight...
Do you mean to say the Powers that Be have other things going on in their lives besides Song Fight??? Say it ain't so!Lunkhead wrote:Fight posted. yeah. I know it's rough. You've never met anyone with women's troubles before.Billy's Little Trip wrote:Came to this thread to hear some good round 3 music and chat. Threw up a little in my mouth. Closed my computer. poured gas on it. Lit it on fire. Moved to Canada.
okay. I got a chance to start listening to this fight and you did a skillful job pulling off the sexy, the normalization of the issue, and the being respectfully-comical-without-mockery of This Thing. I applaud you.
