I've updated the first post in this thread with a few more performers on the roster. We're trying to figure out about ways to promote the show, and still looking for anybody from the community who wants to perform or at least attend.

Might as well just say that Sockpuppet is, in fact, planning to attend/perform, although it's contingent on a couple of things that I'm optimistic about.

My plan is to roadtrip down with Spud. We have a couple of details to work out but conveniently enough I'm going to be at his place tonight so that's a good opportunity to work them out.

Other contingency is the usual ongoing chronic wrist pain problems but I gotta get that under control for reasons other than Song Fight!, so I really hope I can make that work too :)

BTW I guess this is as good a time to ask: what elements of my usual menagerie of instruments should I plan on bringing? I'll definitely bring guitar, probably bring ukulele and violin, sounds like drums are taken care of, I assume Spud will bring his bass, I don't think I'll have room for my cello in my car.

Spud too?! Awesome! Sounds like a fun road trip too, I've not driven between here and Portland or Seattle before.

I'd say instrument wise just bring whatever you need for yourself that we won't already be covering. We'll have drums, bass and guitar amps, bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar (with pickup), and a couple of keyboard options (one is an 88-key semi-weighted piano type thing I just got). We have plenty of ukes and you'd be welcome to just use one of ours.

EDIT: Do you have a preference for which night you play?

Also, I don't think we had said it explicitly, but to be clear, our plan is to end the second night (Saturday the 16th) with the live fight, following the usual tradition.

I have no preference regarding night; I do have a bunch of local friends who will want to come but Friday night should be doable for them (I'll let you know if I find out otherwise). Our plan is to arrive in Berkeley no later than the 14th. (Road trip!!!!!!!)

Spud/fluffy: The Cave Springs Motel in Dunsmuir, Cal. is a pleasant in-between stop for your north-south (or vice versa) jaunts. Reasonable prices (IIRC) and comfy/kitsch as all hell.

Plus, some crazy acoustics effects in the surrounding hills. Eerie cool.

Martin from BSS called the venue to ask about the cover charge and they said it's 90% likely to be $10, so I added that to the first post in this thread and the Facebook events.

brody is still hopefully planning to play but our drummer (Mark) had to drop out because he has a paying gig playing the sax the same night (here in Santa Cruz of all places). So we may play acoustic or enlist another drummer (should one be available). Just need to confirm again with Eric (who I think also has a paying gig on Saturday). But Friday should work for us. Thanks again Sam!
