As if on cue, the CBC today posted a story about the Grand Parade -- just in time for the deadline! This is what my second song is about. I was going to record clean vocals this morning, but there's a howling wind rattling the house.

Stayed up til nearly 6am, but I got it done. Good to be back in the ring, and to see so many old friends come together for this.

Sell Crazy have crawled out from under the rock where they were hiding, and vomited forth a new song. Bring on the fight!

To me, the alarming thing about this post is Tommy's confidence that the songs will be posted before 5pmPDT/8pmEDT Monday. The FightMaster's lack of response to that comment feels like tacit validation. I guess I'm going to have to get my submission(s) in on time for this fight. That hardly seems fair. jk.

A fight posted the next day? That would be historic, in my experience.

I'm already in with one song. The other one is almost ready, My collaborator for that one is feeling better, and is currently trying out another part. As they say in this part of the world when anyone asks if something will be on time, "We'll see what we can do."

Jerkatorium is in, before deadline for once.

This is all very exciting, and also a lot of work! Normally I don't do anything until I'm ready to update the site and I have scripts that make things easy for me. But this time to facilitate the listening party I'm dealing with each email individually from everybody and downloading the attached files (and fixing their names) and uploading them to the FTP site and keeping up a spreadsheet. Consequently if you've sent me updated mixes I can't really guarantee this time that I'm going to be 100% about getting your entries updated. I'm having to go through a vast ocean of submission email threads to find those.

I love hearing that there's an ocean of submissions!

Mine has a runtime of 65 seconds so, song count up, playlist duration up but less so
