The title of the show is (as of right now) Planes & Refrains. The title for the live fight will be announced sometime around the beginning of August.

The name of the show is in flux. There is a groundswell to incorporate the fact that this is the 25th anniversary of Song Fight! and the 25th Song Fight Live. When you see the poster I am working on, you will know the title. The title for the Live Fight will come later.

Sadly - the 8:45 slot is vacant.

I recall discussing this with Spud in a Denver karaoke bar 12 months ago and it was a marvelous idea at the time - just the right sort of trip to help me maintain my Qantas Gold Frenquent Flier status - but alas - I won't be there. The USA is not a place that decent people travel to at the moment.

Apart from the general travel boycott - I really do think things could go very wrong. I recall last year I was grilled for about 20 minutes at customs with "its says you are an engineer - why are you going to Denver...to visit friends...how do you have friends in Denver?...we play music on the internet...are you a musician?...no I am an engineer...are you a professional musician?...no, I am an engineer on a holiday....are you beoing paid?...no I am an engineer who plays music as a hobby visiting friends...who are your friends...Jeff - I have his number if you want to call him...and so on and so on

And that was in normal times.

Fast forward 12 months and my passport now has a Vientamese working visa stamped in it I have recently started working on an AusAid (like USAID - but still functioning) project in Vietnam as a Waste Management Mentor for an environmental group in Hanoi who are trying to conect community and industry waste management strategies.

I can just imagine my next conversation at LAX after an 18 hour flight:
why do you have a Vietnamese working visa?....I am working on an aid project there...do you know they are communists?...yes...and aid is woke?...yes..what sort of projects?...one of them is gender roles in urban waste management...did you say 'gender'...sigh..."Sir - we have a communist transgender garbageman trying to get in - .......? Mr Caravanray - please join the line for the next flight to El Salvador - no, you can't wait in the Qantas Club....

Don't blame you one bit CRay, I'm soon to be leaving the country on Vacation (which is why I won't be at SFL!2025), and even I'm worried they'll try and keep me locked out of the country when I return...
