You have been assigned to cover Jack Shite's "Mission Accomplished". This is your assignment.
This is how is will work. After all, you picked the song for Jack.
Shouldn't that have been "Jack picked the song for you"?
Any way it goes, I'll play.

Is this gonna happen after the side-cover thing? I guess YachtMusik has nothing to do with SongFight officially.

I wasn't. It doesn't, I wasn't intending to.
or should that be:
"I WASN'T. It doesn't, I wasn't intending to"?
Christ, maybe my avatar should be a big winking emoticon. Democracy in action much?

Goddamn, some people are such retarded jackasses (emoticon) that they can't even tell when they are complaining. (emoticon) If you're too stupid (emoticon) to think that this idea could work for other more creative people, (emoticon) don't sign up and don't post to this thread. If you want the rules to be different, go start your own coverfight with your own boring rules. (emoticon)

*sigh* and then, as if by
magic, erik appeared.
If Ken can't take a little light-hearted teasing about his new role as power-crazed dictator, that is either his problem or mine, for not expressing it clearly enough. Certainly it isn't yours.
To make it clear -
Go coverfight, in whatever form you choose to appear. As I said, i had no intention of participating in any form, but it
is interesting to learn that fact precludes me from being able to express my opinions, when you disagree with them, on a public board. Thanks for wading in.
Oh and btw,
ken wrote:Let's say signups start September 1st, when I will start a new thread
In what way am I polluting the sign-up thread, given it doesn't even exist yet? The title of this thread is 'suggestions for the new coverfight" - if I wanted to suggest a different coverfight, which I don't, this would be the place to do it.

Instead of just complaining, I posted a suggestion for an alternative, prefaced with "maybe we could..." 'Cause it didn't seem like the rules were settled yet, but once the fight is announced, then it's too late for "how about???" ideas. Apparently the operational details are more settled than they appeared to be.
So, yeah, Go Coverfight, in whatever form it takes, and if the plan doesn't appeal to me, I'll go do something else.

No, victim, you are not precluded from anything. You're still
allowed to whine and complain about an idea that you will not have anything to do with, but doing so makes you a jackass.

Verbal Fight! Verbal Fight!.....When you're quite finished,
Someone (Ken

) should start the sign-up thread with a definitive set of rules and lets get this rock rollin'
I wanna see if Ray wants a PYF cover of 'Adonai', now that would be worth hearing/tripping to

I'm in. If I get the timeline, we sign up starting Sept 1st and would know what we're supposed to cover about 3 weeks later. Any idea what the final deadline might turn out to be?
