Does this usually involve a fight, too? (I mean a songfight! of course)
Ross
Excellent.
No, there is no fight aspect, in fact the only thing songfight about it is the participants. Non-songfight material is welcome.

A plane ticket from LA to Vegas is like $40. I think with your massive TV dollars you could handle that. Anyway, leave your key under the mat and change your sheets. We'll need a place to crash.

It's less the plane ticket home (I'd do that in a heartbeat) and more the "it's-the-first-week-of-a-show-therefore-the-amount-of-setup-is-absolutely-rediculious-and-now-that-I'm-the-lead-assistant-editor-it's-all-my-responsability" that would keep me away.

so what about the week before - think of it as a send off...

Octothorpe is very interested in attending, but the price of plane tickets is killing us. However, if the date is firmed up, we will start looking for cheap fares. Fluffy is already coming, so that means at least Mad Dog and I need to get there for a reasonable Octo representation.

My birthday is Jan. 26th, so I picked Feb. 4th because it was the first Saturday after the weekend after my birthday. I was hoping to do birthday stuff up here the weekend after my birthday. If we pushed it back a couple weeks would that be any better?

* edit - excellent spud we'll keep our fingers crossed for the price of jet fuel to go down.

okay, so um no replies (I noticed my dates were off). Reply back anyone who has an opinion on which dates are good:
Jan 13 or 14 or 15 (my preference)
Jan 21 or 22
or maybe later in february or march once pfm is settled and everyone else is available we should get this nailed soon so that I can make sure we get the room.

I prefer the 21st, but the 14th is also good. Saturday is best for those of us who have to travel and also have jobs.

Hey All,
I've got a gig up here on Jan. 14th. Other dates should be fine with me. I talked to Chris/pfm and we can put the original date back on the table. He doesn't have to be there.
Also, I'll be in LA for NAMM Jan. 19-22 this year.
EDIT: so yeah, I suggest Feb. 4.

I feel fairly confident saying yeah on behalf of Ross and Seamus. You can most likely count in Evil-E as well.

Hey, thanks for the heads up, Ken. You truly are Super Duper. I missed the last LA songfight, and I was up in LA that night. D'OH!
I will check the dates with my band mates. MOXIE PROPHETS will be in to play some Edge of LA tunes. How many songs do we each get?

Depends on how many people are there, but expect a 30 minute set.

Okay so the same company (SoundArena) has a place in the Valley for $26 and hour (5000W PA; 35' x 35' space, equipped) compared to $45 and hour if we do Hollywood (same equipment and a 35' x 45' space).
I've been to that one before and although I haven't seen the showcase room the practice rooms are just as nice as the ones in Hollywood. it seems to me that the room we usually use is bigger than we really need anyway.
What do you guys think:
7712 Burnet Avenue, Van Nuys, California 91405
or
6611 Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood, California 90038

The one on Burnett has safer and easier parking I think, especially for the price.

Either one sounds good to me. Cheaper sounds good, too.

It doesn't matter to me either. The Van Nuys room is cheaper, but smaller. Also, people have been to the Hollywood one, even though we couldn't find it last time.
