The two main covers I am working on are turning out ok, but one of them could use live drums.

Anyone up to recording some live drums for my track and having them ready by say... this time tomorrow?

ROCK!

Well that make the last 20 minutes of recording redundant.

Never mind, I can't wait to hear this thing.

I had my hands full getting my cover together, but look forward to this mega-star-studded revival.

Sweet. Maybe I should try to head over after work. I wasn't going to ask you, because you're normally not too crazy about recording covers.

I forget my lyrics. I will have a listen to the tracks and see if I can make them out.

I'll host a webpage for the covers, if noone else was planning on doing this, putting them all in one place, until Apple Records kicks my ass and the RIAA sues...

Unless you can wait... 9 hours from now, don't worry. I'll be the mysterious backup singer guy.

The BBC is running some Lennon-focussed programming, and I really enjoyed this interview done by Jann Wenner: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/lennon_wenner.shtml

It's a lot of the raw tape that Wenner captured when writing his famous article in 1971. And it's "raw" in more than one way, so don't listen at work with the speakers up.

I just finished "Oh My Love". I'm not sure if I like it or not. I didn't know about this fight 'till last night, so I think it was rushed. I guess I'll post it tommorow.

with love and apologies to the late, great john lennon......

Give Peace A Chance - The Songfighter Rainbow Coalition for Peace

good reviews, bad reviews
no reviews, blue's reviews
what's the use? no excuse
for the views on the news
people sitting on the hill
never know the men they kill
is it all for just a thrill
we know it's not the people's will
and yet they lie to us still
and yet they lie to us still
and yet they lie to us still

(lyrics and vox by jack)

all we are saying is give peace a chance
all we are saying is give peace a chance

Since Chapman blew Yoko away
John in his grief has lost his way
10 Dad-rock albums, tamborine
on third LP from Tin Machine
The press depressed, fab four to play
A Nike night down at the Shea
One wag suggests it would be best
Had bullets found our John instead

(lyrics and vox by Johnny Cashpoint)

chorus

Everybody's talkin bout
Hogwarts, broom sports,
butterbeer and good sorts
like Fleur Delacoeur,
phwoar get a load of her,
she's a Veela wanna feel her up
on the dance floor
at the Yule Ball,
that's right y'all -
with hormone-y Hermione
and sleazy Ron Weasley
and Harry P don't wanna dance,
Harry P
bust a cap in Voldemorts ass if he get a chance

(lyrics and vox by Caravan Ray)

chorus

Everybody’s talking about religion, terrorism
Get their own vision and they're out on a
mission. Fanatasism, schism,
shocking, talking but nobody listens
Believing, seething, debating, hating
blinded, closed-minded, unkind I’m reminding

(lyrics and vox by Smalltown Mike)

chorus

Everybody's talking 'bout Saturday night
We gotta wait until 12 so the timing is right
Weak kids gone home, serious battlers only
But I never liked making fun of my homies
Written raps bad mouthing foreign administrates (sic)
Movie stars talking calling everyone ignorant
Everyone I see wanna make their gums flap
So I just wanna have fun when I rap, you dig that?

(lyrics and vox by MC Paul Denyer)

chorus

Everybody talking 'bout
Condi and Rummi, not so funny.
Georgie and Porgie, and nuclear orgy.
Salman and Rushdie, money that's hushdie.
Lemon swirls, girls, girls, girls!
Life, life, on and on. A-fter, dead and gone.
Take me home again, wanna be alone again.

(lyrics and vox by Mad Dog)

chorus

People are talking about
Deadlines and headlines, friend floods and bad blood.
Instrumentals, multiple entries, copyright clauses, update pauses.
Avatars that are too big, genres that they don't dig.
Lurkers and jerkers, spammers and noobs,
Politics and movies, tv and boobies.
We're just here to write a song, can't we all just get along?

(lyrics and vox by Spud)

chorus

Lennon :-(

Post by Ross »

I'm in.

Will upload tomorrow. Forgot my log-in info for my space.

I remember the moment I learned Lennon had been shot well. I was thirteen. this project has made me a little sad - appropriately.

That "Give Peace a Chance" is very nice. I wish I had chimed in.

Anybody here care for the Beatles? Oh, just curious.

Here's one ("I'm A Loser") -- fresh this evening, straight out of my body and onto your plate -- and some people from the Seamus Collective ("I'll Be Back"). Also, my friend, Anja Claire ("Nobody Told Me"). Let's see what else I've got. . .

(The line, "Avatars are too big," just got me.)

<a href="http://www.slavemusic.com/images/imonly ... thePockets ("I'm Only Sleeping")

I had been helping somebody on "Hey Bulldog" earlier. Maybe that will surface soon. Let's hope.

I like NCV's "Jealous Guy", too.
