I wasn't talking about all middle eastern music. Only the stuff my neighbor plays. It sounds to me like atonal wailing with kazoos in the background.Rabid Garfunkel wrote:Blasphemy!sdurand wrote:None of selections provided represent the worst music on earth. Middle eastern pop, and the music videos that go along with them rock my freakin' socks off.
Here's my beef with lite jazz. It's almost like it's a type of music created mainly for the ease with which can ignore it, you know what I mean? It's the equivalent of white noise, something you just put on in the background so that there's something in the background.Rabid Garfunkel wrote:That said, "lite" jazz a la Kenny G and his ilk make me want to puke.

Did you contravene your moral and musical integrity to make that $300? If so, your soul sells cheap; if not, you didn't sell out.Rone Rivendale wrote:If you want to be technical I'm a sell out because one of the songs I made was used as background music in a local commercial and I got paid 300 bucks for it.
Well the song in question was made a year before it was used for the commerical. The director guy found it on mp3.com (back when it used to be a site for unsigned and underground artists) and used it, and then sent me the check. The truth is, I didn't have a choice in the matter. He could have used it and I never would have known, I was just lucky he was an honorable guy.Puce wrote:Did you contravene your moral and musical integrity to make that $300? A lot of people seem to think they are ... also - when people start to sell, from what I can tell, they tend to sell out a bit just to please the public or rile them up just so they keep selling ... that's just my opinion though.tviyh wrote:"selling" and "selling out" are definitely not synonymous.
