I like the idea that my TYPED words are so scary that it will keep people out of a converstation. That's real fuckin power.

Wait... let me see if it REALLY works... bet it doesn't. Bet I know more that Gooberoo...hell, I'll prove it.

Gooberboo says:
And you gang up on aperson so that anybody with any kind of sense can't come forward and make some kind of intelligent statement.

Alright. So he's saying the power we weild is in our typed words.

Man, that must be frightening.

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! TYPED WORDS!!!!! AAAAHHHH!

Right, so it stands to reason that this incredible power the leaders of songfight... uh... I'm assuming he's referring to Jack or me or something....so ...uh...people, users... speak up about how they feel....and ....ah....they are ...wrong....cause ...

Cause they are leaders that appear from the user collective, and voice their opinions, provide ideas and direction? Enforce the social contract?

Retard. Hello. This place already functions as you describe. You are a bully. It really bothers you, doesn't it, that no one liked your songs?

I mean, this is really all fueled by your complete lack of self-awareness, where you can't comprehend the complete fact that NO ONE listened to your crap and liked it. Rather than learn and grow so that you could get the response you want, or conversely, if you didn't care and did what you did for you, then none of this would be happening. You poor deluded fool. This all has to do with music, not your retarded, weak claims of 35 million little troll helpers. Power does not lie in written words alone. It lies in the actions that arise from the inspiration the words provide.

You have no power, and that scares you, so you steal it. It must be driving you completely to distraction.

In your personal life I mean, away from you computer. You sit, and you think about this stuff.... man...that's funny.

You will never get what you want this way. That's why it's so funny. You have no power.

SHOW ME. Let's see your POWER. C''MON. Don't you think you have it? Scared to play your last card?

Wonder why...ah... I know. Because you know it's the LAST one. heh heh. then, you're completely tapped out...no power.

You have none.

....this post typed after a long day, under the influence of listening to all four Nur Ein entries...best ranty bits came under the influence of Ken's entry...

Because inaction leads to what? You can never beat an enemy by ignoring them. You can try reasoning with them. You can try to find a common ground. You can try diplomacy. And when all of of those things fail, you face them on whatever field of battle they choose, look them straight in the eye, and kick the shit out of them. And then you try to rebuild them so that their little petty asses can walk away with a moderate level of dignity.

And crawl back under underneath the bridge.

Don't feed the trolls indeed.

Beat the shit out of them and let them decide their own fate.

Sorry Jack, nothing personal but I don't agree with sitting idly by while some asswad trys to tear down something I care about. That approach didn't work in 1938 and it won't (in my opinion) work here.

if you walked into a room, acting like a dick, and everyone ignored you, you'd get pretty bored and eventually leave. you can yell and scream but if nobody's listening, who cares?

plus, it's human nature to be gregarious, and want to be accepted by others, and isolation and ultimately ambivalence leading to apathy are in my opinion the best way to deal with this sort of clutter.

it's an open community. you'll always have dicks to offset the cool folks.

That's true with most dicks, Jack. However, I have seen asswads who will be a dick throughout the entire length of the party even though no one is paying attention to them or interacting with them. In same cases, it seems to make no difference. Our actions are irrelevant. Dickweed here will continue to hate us no matter what we do, whether we agree with him, call him names, annoint him King of SongFight! or whatever. It makes no difference. He's just gotta be him. He is not gonna go out and create his own idealized community. That's not his style. It's weird. He recognizes that every web community is run like this, and yet he picks a few at random in which to have his fun. Whatever. Carry on.

Actually Jack, your post brought me to a hilarious realization, that once before, there was indeed a consensus. There were posts, PMs, emails, and phone calls all on the same subject. It lead to the most democratic action ever in the history of SongFight.

The banning of Lightning Ear Fart.

The difference is, who has the power. If someone can actually tear down something you care about, then yeah, don't just sit back and watch him do it. Prevent people with power from abusing it. Otherwise, who cares? It's the guiding principle behind the actions of both the Borg and snobby cool thirteen-year-old girls, and those are two of the scariest groups I can think of.

This guy likes to talk about exactly one thing. The consequences of not responding to him are as follows: 1) he has no one to talk to.

That's it. It won't gank up the flow of Songfight. It won't do anything to Songfight at all. He has no power to abuse.

Most importantly, this fellow has no power. If anything, I pity that place in life, but it's up to him to figure out how to empower himself positively rather through attempts at demanding or stealing it.

This is another one of your fabrications.

The banning of LEF.

LEF was a member of Dumbrella.

At that time there were over 5000 registered Dumbrella Usrers.

The banning came about through one of your stoopid polls.

20 or 30 people voted him out and it was not unanimious.

Actually, among all the complete nonsense that most of you are flinging there are a few comments that interest me.

Mostess seems to at least have an attention span for the topic.

Leaf made one of the most concise statements that could possibly lead in the right direction.
Leaf wrote: registered users are not the same thing as active users
Traditionally, when the membership is somewhat transient, it has been thought reasonable to make a distinction between active and inactive members when counting a quorum for club business.

The delegate from Texas moves to dismiss the 'sports forum' bill, citing the adequacy of this forum in addition to the television forum, also the lack of constituent demand for such a forum.
