The problem is the same across all genres: a track needs to be a good song, first and foremost, before it can be a good nerdcore song. Most tracks, again across all genres, don't make it to the first barrier. frontalot's a dude who can git-r-dun in that regard. (why does Firefox think "frontalot" is not a word but "git-r-dun" passes muster?)
"It is really true what philosophy tells us, that life must be understood backwards. But with this, one forgets the second proposition, that it must be lived forwards." Søren Kierkegaard

grow up, shut the fuck up, find your own niche and get the fuck off of front's ample jock you talentless, boring god-damned friend flooding pieces of shit. you are a disgrace to the genre, to songfight, and to the entire mother fucking internets.

ass holes.

I think that this is just due to the fact that he's the default that everyone 'round here has heard of.

I could talk about the "2 Skinnee Jays" or the "Buttery Lords"... but no one would know what the hell I was talking about.

lol already one step ahead of you pal!

here are some lyrics for a song on my upcoming album:

bust out the binoculars, let's set up the telescope
bird watching ya'll, ya know it's hella dope

wave your digi-cams all up in the air
check the lens when ya catch something rare

catch me in a tree checkin birds on a hippo
catch me in the zoo checkin out the flamingos

check me and retiree's rollin hard on dubs
gangstas likes we, never late to the bird clubs

wreckshin puttin birdwatchin' on the map
look at all the 80 year olds givin me daps

i spot me a duck swimmin all across the pond
he can't see me, i'm peepin' like james bond

all ya birdhaters don't wanna to step to me
i'll show you an ostrich and a kiwi

try to outwatch me and you'll feel my wrath
i'll take your camera and throw it in a birdbath

(chorus)
i got me falcons, eagles, and hawks (birdlife!)
got me a parrot and you know that he squaks

turkeys, quails, and penguins are my friends
look at them rollin in my mercedes benz

i got swans, geese and you know i got ducks
look at them rollin in my escalade truck

New Zealand wrens, tucans and hens
dodo birds all up in my lens (you know how we do!)

I'm goin' to the hide, to do some twitching

I'm a righteous dude, but I gotta warn ya
I can't get enough of that avifauna

But I'll let you join my flock if you
Wrap your hands 'round my cockatoo

I dislike what nerdcore represents in socio-political terms, i.e. the russification of rap by a white, straight, middle-class male majority.

(ps Only joking. I just find nerds irritating, whatever they do.)

Ahhhh...takes me back to 1978 when kiddies with no musical ability got that "do it youself" ethos and started banging out songs in their garages, along with the russification of reggae/ska by a white, straight, middle-class male majority. 'Punks' we called 'em in them days - and you could get a dozen of 'em for thr'penny a pound....

Well, it does go both ways. I've met a lot of Murries in outback Aboriginal communities who have adopted "Country Music" (the "whitest" of all the musics) as their own.

I was writing a long response, but I think I can simplify it:

I agree that bad music does not have a genre bias. There is great music, terrible music, and everything in-between. Nerdcore is not immune to this.

When I make nerdcore tracks, I do so to entertain people, and because it has been great fun to get use of what little rapping skills I acquired when I wanted to be a 'real' rapper, which was a LONG time ago.

In recent history, the genre has taken itself seriously to the point of disrespecting rappers for not being nerdy enough. "Beefs" have emerged.

Basically, my perception is that the genre has started to take on the worst stereotypes of what rap is supposed to be about.

I have contributed to this genre, and even I am a little burnt out on it. That's why it has been a while since you have heard any Def Author tracks.

Which isn't to say that I won't continue to make rap tracks that could be considered nerdcore. I probably will. Rapping over beats is in my blood by now.

What I AM doing, however, is giving it a rest for a while.

ROCK!
