Thanks to everyone who enjoyed the list. I enjoyed making it. Basically, I spent every workday in December listening to Songfights and ranking every single song on a scale of 1 to 10. Then during my one hour train rides to work I organized them. HInc, you ask if I actually sat around and meticulously figured each songs ranking. You betcha. After I did my initial ranking, I sat around adjusting- saying to myself "That song can't be lower than that song" or "OK, I'm giving that tune a little more weight than it deserves". I grew up listening to Casey Kasem every weekend. I love lists like this. So yes, I guess this is a hobby. But I do have others.
As for the comment about there only being one JBB song (sorry about the H, I'll fix that)- he was only in 2 2004 fights: Wrath of God & Firebomb. As for Jim of Seattle. I don't dig his music much. It's growing on me but not enough to put it in my top 200.

Also Front's Romantic Cheapskate is 136 places too low.
That's okay, I didn't either. Though apparently my daughter did twice.

Hey everyone,
As many of you know, I'm doing another one of these top (insert large number here) year end countdowns. And I've already done a lot of work for it, I've already listened to about 75% of the Songfight songs from 2006 (as well as the songs from 2006 that are in the Sidefight Archive).
Coming to the finish line on this project, I have some questions and a request.
First the request- Any Songfighters if you're on myspace, befriend me. I may have to contact you about one of your songs and that would make things easier. (

And the questions:
1- Does anyone have recordings from the 3 major Songfight shows of the year (Wayne, Santa Cruz & LA)?
2- I see that I'm going to come to the same problem as I did 2 years ago when I did this, so I ask- does anyone how to get in touch with the Doscientos?

I have all of Wayne. I believe Ken got the CDs of Santa Cruz.

Thanks Bjam for reminding me that you posted up Wayne....which also means I should have it on CD somewhere.

Yes I did...but I decided to leave the live tracks out. I thought it would be unfair to include them because unlike all the other songs, they weren't done against a deadline.
In other news, tonight I'll be done listening to all the songs and the tabulation can begin.

Of course, you could also say that they were done against the most demanding of deadlines, having to be performed in real-time!
...of course what this means is that when you're done you will need to rank all of the live songs from this year...

I'm in the midst of doing my work on this project. It's been great fun already, despite being extremely difficult (When it's all done read my preface on the website for an explanation on what 2006's SF 200 has been more difficult than 2004's but in a good way).
Just got a question- anyone have any information on the Narcoloungers? or the Motor Monkeys?

Stevie Windsor one half of the Masters of Grip is also one half of the Motor Monkeys. He's registered on the board, though don't know if he shows up much.

Oh man, it is true, but where are they now... I also have a multitrack session of it that needs some attention. What did I do with it? Sorry Songfight if I let you down...

ken, if you can find or have the session files from SF live, i'm happy to help mix/master them. or at least edit them into chunks if it's one long FL stereo track. let me know.
