That was a pleasant surprise, Lord of Oats. Thank you.

Whatta crock! Songfight is all about public self-flagellation, no?

I'm going driving
I'm going driving
Now that I've found my car
I'm going driving
I'm going driving
I'm gonna find me another bar
At least, that's what everyone else seems to like.

Well what fun is that, then? Sheesh, if there's no audience, why bother?

I thought of another good one, from Clownsex:
You've always got a smile on, baby
It's painted on your face
I like the smell of the greasepaint, baby
When I'm held in your embrace

This used to be an embarassing, angry drunk post. It is now a sober, replacement post.

Edit -- What I wrote was too mean. But seriously, Fodroy, chill out.

I rather suspect he may have been on a Friday night session before posting ... I reccommend pre-prepared slag-offs - they tend to be funnier than drunk people blowing off steam - see just about every post I ever make on a Friday night for further proof of the latter!
I would also say to both him and Luke, well, yeah, duh! Just because we play a game doesn't automatically mean we need someone to point out that's all it is ...

Not being antagonistic, but I have no idea what that means.

Ah Ok. I edited it down to be as least antagonistic as possible, so meaning may have bitten the dust. Probably better that way, as I am trying very hard not to knee-jerk post and end up in some totally unneccessary slanging match with someone i don't dislike!

Ah, much better. Of course, you're right, and I was actually not trying to make any earth-shattering eye-opening remark but was just trying to make a masturbation joke. They're very funny.

Ok, guys, you're on a forum called "Songfight." This forum is all about whipping out your "metaphysical dick" (to cop a phrase from Fodroy's signature) slapping it on the slab, and yelling to the assembled crowd, "LOOOK AT MY HUUUUUGE WIIIIIIIEEEEENER!"
Then the assembled crowd blathers on about the wieners on parade before them and votes for their favorite.
If you aren't a fan of public masturbation, then I would suggest tax preparation or cabinetry as an avocation instead of music-making, film-making, or really, any kind of art-making.
This particular thread is no more about public masturbation than, say, "Oh my god, what Beatles song should IIIII do." or "Check out my new song," or "Please Review my Entry in this most recent fight."
We're here to wank, kids. Live it up.
Edit -- I'm also enjoying the show, as it were, and I'd like to see Luke and Fodroy's, um... lyrics.

I was drunker than I've been in a long time when I wrote that. I apologize. I overreact to things sometime. I just feel weird. I love you all. I love the people here.
I just sometimes feel embarassed trying to talk about myself. Like trying to talk about myself in a positive way. Then I react the opposite of how I should, which is taking it out on others. Please nobody get offended or think that I hate anyone.
Continue your thread.
I like the lyric that I haven't written yet...

Aw, man, s'ok! I've started bar fights myself.
Rabid, that list is awesome-o. I'm honored to have made the cut. I'm partial to "Smell the Buffalo" myself.

Me too, but my bandmates just look at me funny (they've never been to Casa De Fruta down in California's Central Valley).

Oh, I thought of another one I like from my song, the thing most easily forgotten, that ended my Nur Ein career:
Ain't nothing but a music junkie
A messed up schizo cheeky monkey
Booby staring nymphobater
With hair on my palms and my eyesights fading

Jefff wrote:I was pretty happy when I started singing "Lady of the lake, mother of the ocean..."
But I'm pretty unimpressed with all of my words out of their song context.
So, you know, I voted for your entry in this fight. This was a deliriously catchy and wonderful tune -- especially this lyric. It's been stuck in my head for two weeks now.
...And I know people often hate this question, but I'm going to risk wrath and derision because I'm genuinely very interested to hear your interpretation of that lyric. Since it's been stuck in my head for so long I've had a lot of time to think about it. So!
Would you be willing to explain this "Lady of the Lake" "Mother of the Ocean" dichotomy?

We've got the guy, we've seen his face
Imprisoned on some army base.
Interrogators build their case,
Star spangled banners briskly flapping.
