I -am- going to submit an entry this week, but let me tell you, I have a new respect for y'all. Especially those with kids, jobs, social obligations.

I have, in my life, turned good songs around in no time flat, but, you know, it was my idea, inspiration etc. Writing, arranging, recording and submitting a song in this time period, as an "assignment" is just plain hard.

I spent the weekend writing, arranged it all on paper Monday lunch and nighttime. I spent an hour recording Tues and Wed nights (It's a good thing the Red Sox game was a blowout, or I would have had a hard time concentrating). I have a fairly fleshed out skeleton of a song that I will spend any time I can muster adding parts to. Thank goodness for digital editing, I just didn't have time to really learn or rehearse the thing. I also thank goodness that it's a low, whispery song, I don't know when I would have been able to record it otherwise.

Anyway. Thanks for Songfight!

i'm in.
this is the first fight that i haven't had time to multi-track my entry.
so, this week, it's a "demo" version straight off my mp3 player's mic.
sometimes, i prefer these demos to the ones i end up submitting. i usually sing better on them than on the multi-tracked versions (better being a relative term, of course).
anyway, the song is not very scary or anything, but i like it. i've been reading a biography of a certain musician, and this song completes my unplanned trilogy of songs about said musician ("how much will you give me?", and "baby, be quiet" being the other first two).
see you all on the other side of the fight.

*drum roll*

Rone is in! After being away from the scene for a few months (like 5) I've submitted my entry a couple hours ago. I even managed to provide the optional challange. And not in a stupid scream loud for a cheap scare kind of scare either. You'll be disturbed by the ending for sure.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

I'm sure glad I don't have class tomorrow, cause I'm gonna be up all hours of the night trying to get this damn song done on time. While I may not hold very much respect for the song-writing and originality of power metal, I can't deny that it is dang hard to play on pretty much every instrument. Both me and Andrew have met our match with this song, so I've got all kinds of editing left to do to try and make this sound somewhat coherent. Wish me luck, cause it's gonna be a hell of a challenge.

Thanks.
And by the way, I'm in. Perhaps to the surprise of my brother.

I've just submitted a last minute entry that I started at midnight.

I always hate the song right after I'm done, but I usually come around to it later.

Done and done. Unfortunately my L3 decided to go a bit clippy in some of the instrumental passages, but it's not too terrible. I'm just glad to be done (which I suppose is usually the case when you're doing these things the night before the deadline.) Good night.

I got my song in on time, BARELY... I'm wondering how strict is that deadline? I ended up with 15 minutes to comp the horrible vocals I rushed and to mix the song... the guitar solo is missing...I didn't even get to fade it out at the end, blah... If I re-submit something later tonight or even tomorrow, think it will get in?
It's been slow working on it because I have a herniated disc in my back, I can only sit or stand for so long before I need lay down.

I agree wholeheartedly. Sorry again for the less-than-stellar track.

Here we go again. A song is due on Friday (or Thursday, or Wednesday), so the weekend passes with no new title. Am I the only one who likes to record on Friday and/or Saturday night? Fuckin' lame.
Oh, and before the faithful step up to boo me down -- Sorry I have an opinion.
