ok. maki. written and recorded since my last post. i'm submitting the file in a few minutes. it's a short one. feel free to skip reviewing it if you want because i didn't put much time into writing it. i hope someday, when i'm less pissed off, i'll go back and re-record the real maki that i spent all week writing. done in one take, as quietly as possible so as not to wake up girlfriend.

I'm trying to send mine now ... it might be too big. The bass levels might also suck, since they were hastily mixed within half an hour. I really need to go to bed now.

AAAAH! The mix I sent was the wrong one - it's TERRIBLE! I've hastily killed all the treble in the bass mix and resubmitted - hopefully the fightmasters will have mercy on my soul. I hope they take the good one, since I can't bear to listen to the one I sent last night.

I have to go to school.

Rats.
Couldn't pull it off.

It's probably for the best that I couldn't get it done, but there were some fun parts anyway.

next time?...

Hey-
I thought there was a place to post late/incomplete/sucking songs? I can't find it now, was I hallucinating?

Rone won't be making it 2 in a row on his comeback tour. If I get a vote on Night Terrors I'll be happy enough. :D

Apparently I'm supposed to make about 90 posts in this thread about how great my song is, so here I am!

Wow ... this is boring.

I think I'm going to another thread.

Yes, first entry since Anomaly

Post by the_prisoner »

The Weakest Suit wrote:well, i spent three nights last week just on the drums, all weekend on the other basic tracks, and all night tonight on all the vocals and accent instruments, and then the song file in the roland all of a sudden became corrupted. there is no way i can re-record this. it was more ambitious than anything i had ever tried. what i have left is one mix-down of just the drums, guitar and bass from over the weekend, but everything else is lost. this really sucks because for the first time since "anomaly" i think i came up with something really good. there is no way this one would work acoustically at all. i guess, i'm going to try to whip up a short little something to enter, because after all the work i've done this week, i'm getting something in this one. what a sucky night.
The band keeps getting pregnant, well, their spouses anyway. But seriously folks, not a drop of playing since we had our first very narrow Anomalous win, and we're back for more review punishment and pain.

Suit, I just had to quote this most unfortunate incident, since this is also our first good entry since Anomaly (and our only one too :? )

That being said, this one's more like an Asian-inspired funk fest with some cheese sprinkled on top. It was really fun to play, mostly because it had been just too damn long since the last jam.

As usual, no overdubs - As unusual, no odd meter either. We hope you liki!
