hahahah! That did seem a tad out of character for you... from what I've read anyway.

Yeah, I've hit a new low. Or some kind of low. I'll shut up and record more. And review more. And aim higher.

I have written a song for 'I Want To Get On It' so looks like my exile is over. I hope my return will be triumphant, but it's shaping up more like a greek tragedy to be honest

PS martin, I am sorry to say this, but every time I see your name I read 'Ballsack'. It's a dsylexic thing I'm sure :)

Oh, don't mind the fellow above. The second week I was here, he was telling a band to change their name to "Shit Viaduct."

Interestingly enough, I keep reading your name the same way. Glad I'm not the only one.

Ha ha ha I had forgotten that. I still think that would be a GREAT name for a band. i'd listen (from a distance obviously)

Yes, after I posted I thought that maybe my comment came across wrong. No offence meant, it's just i have a spectacularly crappy childish sense of humour :)

I'd like to read The Weakest Suit's argument, but he deleted it. Maybe because people disagreed with it? Reviewing is thankless with so much thin skin around.

I won't review a 30-song fight. I could give a simple Mostess' thumbs up or down for each, but even I don't care about that level of reaction. That's what vote count is for. A review is more than an opinion. And you know what they say about opinions...

But I (shamefully) confess I will not even listen to a 30-song fight. Just seeing the long, long frontpage makes me dizzy. I've tried listening to it in the background while I work, but I zone out. I've tried picking just a few favorite names, which is fine for me, since I know those entries will be good. But that's not the spirit of the game. But on the few times I've listened to and considered each entry in a >10 song fight, there's always a vote toss up: usually a well-written lyric vs. a well-written melody. With 30 songs, who can even keep track?

If I were fightmaster, I'd be reluctant to change formats, too. Multiple titles is well-trod territory and I'm glad to see it back: I can deal with small fights. I'll certainly listen more. Maybe I'll even start reviewing again. But until fights get back to 7 to 10 songs, or we can (officially) cast votes for multiple songs in the same fight, I can't say I'll vote more.

And Mr. Weakest Suit: I've been here over 5 years and I've never seen anyone drummed out of the community for saying contentious things. Counterpoint requires the original point. This is a public forum, and discussion is impossible without transparency. Stop deleting your posts. It's a bad habit. Just start posting less if you regret things you tend to say.

Of course, if one were to ask me (not that anyone did), I might just say, it's a bad habit because it means you don't have the balls to stand by what you say! The more you do it, the less balls, etc.

But I think Mostess already answered the question, before it was even asked:

That there is a fantastic line, imho.

Get on with it baby! If you must achieve transparency in a web setting, be sure to use a matte that matches your background. Dark for dark, light for light, white for white. And don't forget the dither...if necessary

It's the umlaut. Give a guy a heavy metal name and suddenly all hell breaks loose. Nyet coincidenski, as they say in the old country.

Wow. This song isn't treating me well. Tempo's all messed up, and I can't get a good drum take. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Yup, I am done and in the process of being 'in'. Some lyrical references that will mean nothing outside of England, but I am sure that will be the least of your kicking concerns come review-time!

Well, I had a song in the works, but illness and the busy-ness of the holidays have conspired against me. I hope it's a great fight. SLim chance that something by me could still appear, but I think I'll sit out rather than submit a sub-par deal.

Welcome back J$ - looking forward to hearing you again.

I've introduced A New Player to the joys of this community. If he remembers the URL, he'll likely be here soon, but in the meantime, he wrote and recorded a "Credible Threat" in my living room, and asked me to play keys on it. I'm still considering entering solo, but since I played keys for my friend, and the deadline looms, that might not happen.
