excellent jb,

I shall add your name to the confirmed list immediately!

...

Everything is shaping up swell here. The room is reserved as is a pre-show practice room.

Anyone who wants to get together earlier (friday for example) for practice will want to reserve a room two weeks in advance if they want to practice with a drummer. The rooms are $18 an hour. PM me and I can help arrange it.

We have space for free if you want to practice without a drummer.

Also let me know (like jb did) when you're getting into town and also PM me cell phone numbers etc. That will make it easier to arrange time for hanging out friday night etc...

Alright as far as I know this is the final list of definite bands:

Gus
JBB
Ken and the New Incredibles
Loyalty Day
pray for mojo
Primitive Screwheads

If any of you have an interest in what time your band goes on, feel free to share it. If slots still need to be filled after that I'll just draw names out of a hat.

A middleish slot would be good for me. I have a bunch of friends coming who have to work during the day, so a little time cusion for them to arrive woudl be appreciated on my end.

I got Friday the 18th off so as we can all hang out/rehearse/whatever. I am tryign to finish up my demos and mp3s for those of you playing in my band. I am really sorry about the delay. I lost my voice last week thanks to a head cold, so I'm trying desperately to get that back and finish these thing for you guys. Soon, I promise. In the mean time, if you have any questions, please feel free to shoot em my way.

Hey All,

KNI still needs a drummer. Anyone know anyone?

I would appreciate an early-ish spot since my parents/family will be there and they can't stay out too late.

PS would like an early slot because: a) we're cowards; b) y'all will sound *so* much better following us, heh.

Seriously though, we'll take anything, and we don't have any outside considerations (like visiting audience members who live on day schedules and need sleep and such) to bump us ahead in lineup needs.

But earlier would be preferred, for the reasons above

Pulling into town friday afternoon/evening (yay friday LA traffic!). Cell #s to come in PMs, eventually.

Some time between 9:30 and 10:30 would be good for me I think. Not too early, not too late for goldilocks.

Yes sir roymond I will see you then! No Boston, Puce? Sucka. Maybe I'll see you at SongFight! Aruba 2006.

Everyone's slots seem to match up pretty well, so I don't think I'll need to draw straws. How does this sound?:

7:00 Primitive Screwheads
7:50 KNI
8:40 Loyalty Day
9:30 prayformojo
10:20 JBB
11:10 Gus

Feel free to juggle your spots amongst yourselves.

It sounds like many people are up for hanging out on Friday. PM cell numbers etc and well get set up (I've got Chris, Ken, and RG).

I usually like a break between sets, but I guess it isn't going to happen this show. CAn we atleast break up the KNI and Loyalty Day sets?

Our set will be pretty short, so you should at least have a fair amount of time before KNI goes on.

That is a good point. Can I suggest we start later and tighten up the time between sets?

Ken
Absolutely, we can start at 8 and kick LD until at least after pfm. Did you want your parents to see the LD set, Ken. If not I'd wager that JBB would switch slots with LD if want to go on later.

8:00-8:30 Primitive Screwheads
8:40-9:10 KNI
9:20-9:50 prayformojo
10:00-10:30 Loyalty Day
10:40-11:10 JBB
11:20-11:50 Gus

Thoughts on this?

March, eh?

(just playing...I would love to go, it looks like it will be one hell of a show, but I don't see myself being able to attend in all honesty.)

Although... I do get weekends off....

Hey, I'm new to this whole thing, but I live in Los Angeles, so I would be remiss if I didn't show up, yes?

Here's the thing: I know there's no "songfight" aspect to this event, and it's probably too late to introduce one, but I simply have to throw something out there.

When I used to do improv back in Chicago, there was an event that took place once a week after the shows, called "The Jam", that always ended in a game called "1001". Basically, someone got up and threw out a topic (like, say "screwdrivers") and a huge horde of drunk improvisers would rush the stage and form a line. First one up had to tell their best "1001 [topic]s walk into a bar" joke, whatever they could make up on the spot. Good ones were cheered, and only people who had already told a joke could judge the ones that followed; those judged bad had to do the monkey dance.

Couldn't help but think that if something similar happened after the show, say a title thrown out with the first musician to the stage and grabbing an instrument having to throw out a 30-second song right then and there, followed by the next, etc., might be fun.

Or not. I guess it depends on the group.

Perhaps I'll see the group there.
