Yes. Yes it is, and I will not be in this fight, although it's one of the best titles I've seen here, ever. I'm just too damned drunk and apathetic to make a song. Dammit, I suck.

Billy's Little Trip wrote:Chad, you really need to start experimenting with vocal fx to help create atmosphere. Not that there is anything wrong with the way you do vocals, but to give yourself inspiration to let it rip. Your songs are almost screaming for multi tracked vocals and fx to match the mood of your style. This is of course just my production passion speaking out, so take it at face value, lol.
Second. Vox FX can really open some doors, especially if you're trying to weird people out.

Also, I just finished my song. I consider this one to be a milestone, considering that except for the drums, I did not use any programmed instruments. A friend of mine also plays live bass on this.

This was passed on to me from a friend of a friend who's heard some of my previous Howl Down the Chimney work:

> For his next assignment, I would like him to write a disco-styled song about
> being buried alive (or, perhaps, an intense fear of being buried alive).
> Something pretty jaunty. Feel free to use lots of theremin sounds.

I think she was half joking, but I took it on as a side-challenge anyway... for fun, and for the chance to blow her mind. This song gave me trouble, but I stuck with it and I'm IN. How closely does the end product resemble the instructions? Stay tuned!

Oh boy, my first songfight. Assuming nothing's wrong with my submission...sent it in about 20 minutes before the deadline.

It's not... well, it's my first time doing something like this in audacity, my computer mic is crappy(or is it the soundcard? I'll figure it out soon), I haven't made anything sound/music-wise in about two years, and I've never actually made anything using my own voice. All things considered, it turned out rather well.

My only major problem myself is that it's pretty noisy(I mean the unwanted buzzing)... I'll fix that as I get more experienced in audacity and of course by getting ahold of a better mic/soundcard. I miss working in Digital Performer on shiny newish mac- that's what I used when I was in school- the school's, not mine. :(

I'm thrilled I finished something. My main goal in participating right now was just to get myself going making stuff and being creative again. :) So thanks, songfight, for giving me the impetus to make something cool. Hope you don't judge my little offering too harshly, future entries are sure to get better as I get more experienced and hopefully acquire better tools.

By the way, if my voice sounds at all familiar, it's because I contributed dialogue to BabylonHoruv's "Love Me A Little Bit More" entry, credited as pandamonieum(my username in the game we met on).

In, for the first time in a year. Thought I'd break up the usual fare with some drum n bass. I look forward to some "not my thing/this isn't a real song" type reviews.
