I think that you know that our "Beer and Salad Days" and "It's a Shame" were diskmakers. Obviously, "Information Overload" was home-made, and may not even play, according to blue.

I could tell Information Overload was homemade, and it's quite nice in its home-made-ness. It imported just fine into iTunes, so no problem with that (and anyway it's not like I didn't already have all those songs).
The other two seem much higher-quality than what I got from Discmakers. They must have switched to a cheaper process (or cheaper jewelcases, anyway) since then. Or maybe it just feels cheaper because of my sparse whitespace-heavy design.

Today I also found out how hard it is to find general-purpose media storage furniture anymore. Even Best Buy didn't sell CD racks anymore! The only sort of storage thing they sold was one of those dumb wire things, sized specifically for Blu-Ray. Gee.
So I guess tomorrow I'll be heading down to Target and buying some cheap bookshelves or whatever.

Try having Mike/Michael as your first name.

My real first name is Michael, and my real last name is Lewis. There are at least 6 Michael Lewis on teh
interwebz more famous than me. There are actually four of them where I work.
So yeah, I hear ya.
I used to use "mike" as my net moniker, but I got tired of collisions, so I switched to Irwin. No rhyme or reason, just wanted a less common name to use.

So your name isn't Irwin? Damn, I finally filled one of my life goals to know an Irwin. If you tell me that's not you in your avatar, I'm going to be crushed. Although he does look like one of those 80's singer song writers that sing about moons and New York, not Christopher Cross, the other one.

BLT, my dad is an Irwin and, yeah, you wouldn't believe what a rich and fulfilling life I've led because of it. He'll be coordinating the bocce competition at the Senior Games in Fort Wayne again this summer so drop by and introduce yourself.

Hey cool, I'm there! Actually, I played Bocce for the first time about a month ago.

Depending on when it was, some of mine were made by ex-sonfighter Bryan Baker, some by Diskmakers, and some by DiskFaktory. I have to remind myself of which one was most recent, but that's the one I want to stick with - I think it might have been DiskFaktory.

Hm, I guess I should have asked around more for recommendations here then. I'd been pretty impressed with Discmakers' output that I'd seen before, but I'd only seen their pressed discs before. I foolishly assumed that their short-run service would at least have the same quality of on-disc and traycard printing. Oh well.

So who is in your avatar? He looks like I've seen him in a movie or on the TV screen to one degree or another.

Or is it the short dude from Air Supply?

It's my face photoshopped onto the guy on the right:

QotD: No Ujn is not my real name... back when I was younger I thought that it was cool how Nivek Ogre was Kevin spelled backwards... but Mit just didn't cut it for me... so I tried a different approach and shifted the letters by 1 down the alphabet. I'm sure you can figure it out. Also I share the same name as a former hockey player (now assistant coach), and a harry potter type comic book wizard... Groovy!

Funny how I'd consider that shifted "up" the alphabet. Would this fall under optimism and pessimism? Like, going up from A to Z is the "Jefferson theory" and moving down from A to Z is the "David Caruso's career theory".

do you also say "going down there" or "coming up here" regardless of North/South...

I say down south and up north. But that could be because I was programed to say that. But I'm not sure which is correct when saying, "I'm going down the street" or "I'm going up the street." Especially if the street is all one level, lol.

I say down/up based on the relative change in altitude.
