Okay, got mine done and I'm going to go ahead and post it now 'cause if I don't I'll be tempted to add a lot more synth-struments to it and just make it worse...
Could We Start Again, Please? (J.C. Superstar)
Enjoy!

Very nice, Charles. I always liked that song in the movie version. Usually sung by many cast members, including porn star Paul Thomas as Peter, it sounds nice as a solo venture. Good work, sir!
In related news: I am signing off of the computer to go start my JCS cover right....NOW!

Yeah, when I finally got around to replacing my LP copy of JCS with a CD, I went for the movie soundtrack for that song, even though I think the original version is better as music.
What I'd love to be part of would be a songfight recording of JCS, where one band / person puts together all the instrumental tracks (or maybe each song gets assigned to a different band / person for the tracks ) and then we work it out so that all the Judas vocals are done by the same person, etc.

k, I think I'm going to attempt the Dentist song, from Little Shop of Horrors. I have no idea when the deadline is, but worst case scenario: I just post a random song for y'all.
on a side note: nobody's going after Tommy?

Ever since the announcement way back when I've been thinking about "I'm Free", but lacking the balls, range, and inspiration/misdirection, well... you get the idea.

Good job your highness. The vocals sound absolutely great. I really like it.

Hey 2-dogs: great vocal job there, you nailed the passionate delivery and did well with the range. Very impressed! Not to drag the conversation from another thread over here, but the mix is a bit spotty. Still, neat ideas for the arrangement. But again, great vocal job, kudos to you.
Update: I have not forgotten this, but I will be late. Just re-did the guitar part today which holds it together. Bass line next, and after that should be able to knock the rest out quickly. So...soon.

no problem Steve, I'm not going to have time to make a poll for this until the weekend, so lets say anything that arrives before the end of the day on Saturday will be included.

Thanks Paco, much appreciated. I managed to come back from a road trip just in time to have a final listen and make minor adjustments to the mix before the deadline. Now.... its good to go. T'was a tough one. Over a month of working 8 hours per night on this, but I learned lots. Its all good.

I can only say one thing "You rock Paco". Sounds great. I am duly impressed as usual. The mix is solid, the music is very good and the voices... You're a damn chameleon I swear. When I listened it made me feel like I was back at the theater watching the play. Very well done.
Its nice to have a goal in life. Mine is to eventually be half as talented as you are.

Steve you again delivered a great performance. Stayed true to your style and it really sounded good. This is gonna be a harder fight than I expected.
So the question is "How do we take the products of this fight to the masses of SF?" It would be nice to have a real voting booth.
Can Spud and the boys give us some space on the Mainpage to have the folks have a listen to what we've done and vote on it?

The more the merrier I think. I imagine the deadline is a rope that stretches
No objections from me.

I couldn't have put it better myself, with real life taking up most of my time I haven't finished my tune yet and I would like as many as possible to contribute a track to this so keep 'em coming.

Well, if you can hang on until Wednesday evening (when I am back from Tokyo) then you will a splendiferious version of 'Somewhere' on the ukulele to add to the fold. Hell, even if you can't, I'm still going to record it once I've transcribed it out of Ab (impossible for anyone to play unless they are octopii.)
