As an experiment, I created a login called "lyrics" and am going to play around with transferring the lyrics for the old "Shreds" fight from the dumbrella archive into this archive. I've added the end date of the fight to the thread title to indicate it's an old fight.
Suggestions, comments, please put in this thread. If you were in the Shreds fight but never posted your lyrics, feel free to add them to that thread.
Right now, this is just manual copy-and-paste... just to try to set up a model for how this could be done.

Okay, well, nobody's complained about the new threads for old lyrics, so I guess I'll continue. Sorry that these new threads turn out at the top of the pages... maybe the current song lyric threads could be made sticky or something... anyway, I'll continue to include the date on the old songs threads to help identify them.
As it turns out, the easiest way to do this is going to be to go through one "page" at a time of the old dumbrella thread and just post all the lyrics on there, for whatever songs they're on. So I'm working on page 32 right now, which will lead to seven or eight new threads, I think. The new threads I'm creating won't necessarily be complete (there may be more "Big Disco" lyrics on page 31, for instance), but I think this will be the best way to make sure everything gets across.
Again, suggestions or comments welcome in this thread, and if you were in one of these old fights and never posted your lyrics, now would be the time!

it appears as though the old dumbrella threads are gone.
i don't know how big of a problem this is or whether someone has some sort of a backup or something.
i'm just calling everyone's attention to this.
an example:
the "stand in the cirlcle" review thread.

They've been gone for a couple of months now. You can still Google cache some of them I believe.

Although, there only seems to be a Google cache of the first page of every extinct dumbrella thread.

Ignore the "Dillfrog" header/footer branding, that's just to make it easier for me to code. It's not linked from anywhere else on the Dillfrog site.

Hey Plat, I notice that "In Bed" seems to be missing from the Dillfrog archive? Looks like you're still maintaining the site since "5 Nights" is there...

I don't have time to dig, but the
internet archivehas much of this stuff...it is hit or miss. Perhaps this has been mined before?

Nice catch; should be
fixed now; my regex didn't like the periods at the start of the title.
Yep, that code has been updating the listings automagically for a while now.

SPRING OF TEAL
- Caravan Ray
spring of teal murder of crow whisp of snipe and so it goes
in every time in every weather birds of a feather will flock together
hey hey
we get up early in the morning
as the sun begins to rise
we are the epitome of pinpoint punctuality
the worms pile up before our eyes
spring of teal murder of crow whisp of snipe and so it goes
in every time in every weather birds of a feather will flock together
hey hey
lets fly south now for the winter
and togethere we will sing
avian migration is a cause for celebration
but we'll return again in spring
spring
spring of teal murder of crow whisp of snipe and so it goes
in every time in every weather birds of a feather will flock together
hey hey

THANKS FOR COMING
Caravan Ray and Reesy
thanks for coming down to this bus stop in the rain
ive been waiting with the remains of day at my feet
ive been hoping for some change but i know its already late
im holding out for a cup of instant inspiration
life is full of well-meaning one-way streets
that try to keep you satisfied till the latest update on happiness arrives
blind heart in the mirror keeps looking back at me
trying, yes he's trying to see what all the lying has achieved
it makes me look for the change that keeps me waiting
change that keeps me waiting
oooh im waiting
thanks for coming, what can i say, i guess im just having a lousy day
