Just to make sure everyone knows, all of my track is 100% mic'd non-instruments - no midi, pre-made samples, or synths. The 'synth' sound is an electric shaver and the 'bass' sound is a soda bottle. I can provide evidence if necessary.

I hope that doesn't make your song too "pop-ey."

From reading the lyric thread - one song already has sparked my interest. I just hope the challenge has been properly met. Because we've got to have rules and obey them. After all, we're not savages. We're Nur Einers, and the Nur Einers are best at everything.

Kids songs are about to go up.
And a huge thank you to Manhattan Glutton. If you haven't seen the updated Nur Ein website, it's amazing.

Yep, he did a great job on that.
It looks like the feel good design of summer that you like for the first 20 or so looks then would rather stick a fork in your eye than see again. Luckily for him, I scored it after 3 looks.

Ross- I love the lord of the flies lyrics. The song is solid and very well executed. There was no doubt in my mind that you would produce a great song, and you did! Great job.
Manhatton glutton-awesome way to meet the challenge! The music sounds great. I really like the violin sounding thing. Super kick drum too.
Merisan-so first off, HOLY CRAP!! This song has everything that tickles my ear. Its extremely catchy, I love your voice, the backing is perfect. I don’t even know or care about the lyrics on first listen because its just so enjoyable to listen to. My favorite of the round.
Paco-not into the beep box. This is a real accomplishment. Good way to meet the challenge. I like all the extra samples.
Wsa- =)
This is a really strong round. I do not envy the judges.
All of these competitors are amazing! I think overall this may be my favorite round as far as the quality of EVERY song! Merisan is my favorite ( excluding ours) this round.
Whoever makes it through out of this group deserves it! It really could go every direction IMO.

Thanks for the compliments, frisbee!
I'm really enjoying the songs this round. Paco's song is cracking me up and is probably my favorite. I love Ross's concept and chaotic island vibe. MG's song has some really great non-instrument sounds. TWSA's vocals and arrangement are awesome. Great job everybody!

I like all of these very much. Not sure how I will rationally decide on scores. I will probably just get drunk and do it irrationally.

You poor bastards. I don't know how this is going to come out. I loved every song. And as may have become evident to most of you before this - I am not some girly suck-up fan boy. If you suck - I will tell you.
Merisan: Execution is perfect. Like, really perfect. The lyrics fit the song. It is a beautiful song.
"I hear the kids say yeah yeah yeah" - that is exactly the type of thing I wanted to hear this round for this title. Well done.
MG: Music and challenge-wise - you win hands down. Most of the others did the acapella stuff - you did the banging stuff. And you did it very well. Wonderful song. Very well written and performed. Loved the call and response type vox , especially the "bombs" line. Lyric content did not engage me much, simply because it had an American bent - but I could understand what you were getting at. That really is the only reason that other songs may be rated higher than yours - nothing to do with the quality of the song - simply a matter of cultural connect.
Paco: Lyrics-wise - you win. This is genuinely funny. And with your delivery and the sound effects - pure gold. The line:
Kids have goofy biblical names
and they rot their minds with video games
almost got you top points instantly.
Ross: Last week I said I wish I had written your song, but I don't think I could really write anything that good. This one actually sounds like something I might have written. Especially as it is about one of my favourite books. I like the drums (or whatever it is) and the way the song is written - but, because I am really searching for faults here - I am going to mark you down on your accent. And your descended testicles. Your voice just doesn't say "Lord of the Flies" to me. I want a pre-pubescent English boy (OK - I know the Courts and their Restraining Orders won't let me have one). Maybe a bit of
Kyrie Eleison would have convinced me more. I have to mark these some way - but the bottom line is this was still entertaining.
WSA Brian Wilson and Furry Pedro - together at last! How can this go wrong! It doesn't. It is superb. Who is the second vocal - is that Melvin? It is equally good. This is beautifully put together. Perhaps some of the lyrics are a bit too naff? - but that is a minor complaint - as I have said - I am really searching for faults here.

The Worldly Self Assurance - Did a good job of holding my interest musically throughout considering the limitations this round. Lyrically I enjoyed it as well. Very strong entry, well done.
Paco del Stinko - Couldn't agree more. I'll be sending this to my old boss at the daycare. In a round where not much stood out, the humor in this will help you in my eyes.
Merisan - I'm sorry, but I'm starting to think this vocalist could sing anything & I'd like it. Thought it was sweet, and catchy. Didn't really stand out...but it was good.
Ross Durand - I liked the pacing of this, and kitchen stuff kinda sounded like wind chimes...that was cool. Is this about a movie or something? Sounds familiar, but something I hadn't seen in maybe a loooong time.
Manhattan Glutton - Hey now, I like Fox News...anyways... I thought the music was pretty creative, but didn't really get into the lyrics. They weren't bad, but it's a slow paced song that didn't have anything lyrically that grabbed me to keep me into it.

The lyrics reference the novel The Lord of the Flies, from which movies have also been made.

I knew the lyrics were a risk, but I'll be damned if I have to write about children or goats. That was the first thing I thought of.
