There's only two people who haven't given me titles yet, but there's still time for other folks to sign up if they want!

Okay everyone, the assignments have all gone out. Check your PMs, and if you don't have one from me (and you were expecting one), then write me ASAP so I can figure out how to handle it.

A few things are just as you'd expect - the majority of the titles were good ones that the author had thought through. I think there were two jokesters who turned in titles I didn't care for, so I'll be very interested in seeing the output of the people who get these titles. Other than those, I think almost everyone got a title that suited them pretty well - it's borderline in a couple of cases, but most people (I would imagine) have no reason to complain.

Doesn't mean they won't complain... but hey. Forget it, Jake. It's Songfight.

The key for whoever got my title would be to remember that you don't actually need to use the words of the title in the song, just tell a story. I think that will also apply to the title I received.

My initial reaction to my title was ... "wuh? I guess...."

And now I have a full-blown axe-murderer-whisper-while-channeling-Hank-Williams tune. Yup. I am happy. Time to go lay down a bass track...

Also, maybe apologies to whoever got the title I submitted. It was second string. Actually, it was less than second-string, it was "oh crap, my first submission was nixed: I need to come with something in the next five minutes while grading papers and preparing lesson plans..."

[Edit] It's done. Apparently I get excitable about this topic. And it starts out Hank Williams but then takes a left turn at ... uh... Cage the Elephant, maybe? I dunno. It morphed when I accidentally hit the distortion pedal and went "oooh...."

It's fun growling into a mic first thing in the morning.

Music is 66.6666666666% done... Just bass now. Then words, which are going to be a blast to write. Hopefully my day off Friday will be enough, cause we move on Monday, and everything is basically packed.

You SongFight people always send my music into crazy dark places. I swear most of my songs aren't so creepy. Left to my own devices I write sweet little character love songs and jokey pop songs, but as soon as you guys assign me a title it's all conspiracies and murders. I don't know where it comes from.

But yeah. This one is creepy. Also, very, very -ahem- low-fi, but that's sort of my MO, I guess.

I ain't started yet. Do I look bothered?

No. I will still kick that early posting tosser's candy arse....(assuming the early posting tosser wasn't Paco)

Though I have had word from my very good friends from Give Our Regards To The Earth's Core - that they have done an unofficial song for this. Apparently relating to some Billy's Little Trip post....
