I'm super excited that Sonfight Live! is happening in my town this year and that WreckdoM is performing live for the first time ever on my birthday weekend!! I don't wanna hear any more griping about the beautiful weather in Texas during the summer. It's great. Nobody in Austin has to wear a shirt if they don't want to. If you've already said you can't make it please reconsider. If you're on the fence, get off it. This is going to be a blast and a half. Seriously.

Sure, I'll just tell my mom to cancel her book tour and my dad to cancel our tickets to see Der Ring des Nibelungen that he bought six months ago because of a silly thing that wasn't scheduled until the last minute.

I understand that some people have financial issues. I've got a spare bed and couch, so I can put up a few people for free in my house if needed.

I wonder if it might be possible for people to save some $$$ by using airbnb.com also and going in on a place with a small group?

A bunch of you guys did that last year in Seattle; I don't see why it wouldn't work here in Austin.

I can tell fluffy isn't genuinely bitter, at least not at anyone here in particular, but I might as well clear the air. Our delay in settling upon a city meant that I had to move quickly. I managed to secure a meeting with my #1 venue choice within six days of the announcement, and they had two full weekends available. One was August 9-10, and the other was August 23-24. The first of those weekends was a dealbreaker day for fluffy, and the second of them was a dealbreaker day for Geoff. Geoff is local and plans on contributing his time, equipment, and possibly practice space to the event. I had three options:

1.) Schedule on the 9-10, apologize profusely to fluffy.
2.) Schedule on the 23-24, apologize profusely to Geoff
3.) Find some other venue or combination of venues with the 16-17 available, keep you guys waiting even longer to find out when and where this is going to be held.

So. Sorry, fluffy! I'll see you next year!

And let me be the first to nominate Atlanta to host Song Fight Live 2014.

Yeah, I'm just going for comedic effect here. I'll give it a rest now before it becomes even more unfunny. Being perfectly serious and honest here, Jon Eric made the right choice, even if it's a bit disappointing for me.
