You most certainly can and are very much encouraged to do so.
Here is the sub-thread I started for this:
http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=9190
with a few guide tracks so everyone is doing the same speed and pitch
I have put up 2 acoustic guitar tracks so far. I'll try to do a vocal later this weekend - but want more vocal tracks from others
If we can get a lot of individual tracks posted to that thread - people can mix and match and make their own mixes.

Just saw this.
I've now half-recorded an entry, it's going well. Hopefully I'll record something for the uber-mix-up as well.
Bonanza.

I am done and ready to submit, with an awesome collaborator added to the version some of you may have heard over at Rocktober. Where should we send these? Do you want MP3s or just links?

I'm going to push the deadline back two weeks:
New Deadline! 12am Pacific, the night of Sunday, 1st of December
You can email me links or mp3s, whatever is easier for you. I have a place I can upload the files to if anybody needs hosting.
Send them to
samtheshopper
And that's at Gmail.

I'm in with 2.
I collaborated with my son Django Phillips. He named our band : "The Kraken Lives"
I'm also in solo. (I couldn't help myself with the extension)
Looking forward to this!
Edit: I guess you could say I'm in with 3, I play guitar (left side) on the BSS track

I've got I think six songs at this point. Are other folks still working? I'll probably post the songs late tonight. Late submissions are OK with me too.

I'm well underway and this WILL get done, but maybe not by tonight. If I'm late it won't be by much.

I'm exporting my mix. I think what I'm going to do is upload the mp3s to my Web site, then post them to somesongs.org and make a playlist of them. I'll post the link when I'm done. And again, late entries are fine with me, I'll do my best to add them as they come in.

Apologies for the stick clicks at the beginning of the BSS cover. We don't have a final mix yet so I just uploaded the latest demo we had for now. I'll update the mp3 when we've got the final version.
Replaced with mix from Ken. Thanks Ken!

Can you stick that somewhere?
Still working on a Psycho Killer with contributions from Ken, J$ and Andy Balham.
Happy to accept more tracks. Guitars and vox would be good

The Kraken Lives. +1
And overall - I am so impressed. 3 Songs from '77. 3 from Remain in Light. And 1 each from Speaking in Tongues and Fear of Music. That is exactly how Talking Heads should be remembered.
(I think I have mentioned before - Remain in Light is close to my favourite album of all time by anyone. And '77 is not far behind).
