Like the rest of us, you can choose to buy the plane tickets (or train tickets, or drive, or whatever), or you can choose not to go.

As for the date, I'd like it noted that I won't be able to attend unless the event is held on the second weekend in August or later. If it's held earlier than that, I hope you guys have fun without me!

Hmm, dates... I can't really make the weekends of 9 Aug and 16 Aug, but the rest are pretty good.
I may be able to help a little extra since I'm semi-local.

The middle May is the only time that is not good for me. Graduation weekend is always bonkers. Other than that I'm pretty open.

Looking at the date constraints of Jon and Bill and fluffy - 23
Aug could work

Oh. And BTW, though I am keen to come to this, I will consider boycotting if Paco del Stinko is not in one of the spare seats in Jim Tyrells car.

I will need you in my band Paco. Are you in? (Oh...there will also be space for Jim Tyrell in my band)

I may be able to assist Mr. Ray. I mean, it is a bit closer to me than uh, Australia. File under...we'll see.

Depending on the dates, I may drive down from NYC Thursday eve.

venue secured. 7drumlessons.com is a studio in a hot area of DC that takes up an entire townhouse. With several soundproofed practice rooms and a performance space. Drums, amps, and PA included. We'll have it from 2-11 Friday and Saturday, reward alas in the afternoon, performances starting around 7. Rock and roll acts from 7-9, then Acoustic After Hours from 9-11.

The venue is a lesson space and teachers may be on site and available to trade playing tips for beer and pizza.

Available either of these weekends:

August 15/16
August 29/30

Likely also can do 22/23, but for some reason I thought that wasn't a good weekend.

Discuss.

Woohoo! I'm fine with either weekend. Let us know sooner rather than later, since we all want to get our travel etc. booked.

And according to Google maps, across the road from Town Danceboutique:

Spacious gay nightclub with multiple dance floors on two levels, plus a plush lounge & drag shows.

Better remember to pack my arseless chaps.

"venue secured."

Are we looking at August 15/16? Haven't seen a confirmation yet.
