A Baseball Honeymoon on Ellis Island & A Prefight
Uncanny coincidence of the week!!!MintyHandy wrote:Okay, I might be in this week after all. Having a bad time at work, and have my ukulele with me; I think it's mandatory then that I write something about a polynesian honeymoon. In june. Or perhaps july.
This will be an experiment in how good a recording can sound through a laptop mic.
I also am doing Polynesian honeymoon, with a uke, and my name is also Dave Owen!!!

tshhh, I just got mine mixed down this am. That load pop b4 the levels drop and the fumbled guitar line in the second part are intentially there to symbolize the struggles of immigrants. So anyone who bitches about them just doesnt understand true artistic expression! Bing, youre gonna feel hollow and without purpose after im done slapping you down. but dont worry, dont fear, there is more to life!Father Bingo wrote:I just sent in my "Ellis Island" instrumental. Pegor, I'ma gonna mop da ring wit you! Grrr! and stuff.

Ok... so the Boon Liver track... it's pretty fun. The Bloody Hams... I have NO IDEA what it sounds like.. so I wait in anticipation of hearing how the drums and bass actually relate to the vocals and finished mix and all that...
what a blast I had this weekend... I spent Fri-Sun in my studio, drinking beer, enjoying the killer weather, played some street (actually gravel) hockey with my son, practiced guitar, did two collabs on-line.. god damn mondays... yet another great thing about monday due dates...new songs to peak up the week.
So WATCH OUT!! Looks like a helluva week... I hear this week's SFO will be something to get sonically imbedded into..
Smalltown called up our old bass player sunday morning after, like 12 years or so. No "hi, it's me", no " what's up"... he just says... "We're putting Boon Liver back together"... didn't mention that the drummer is in BC and the guitarist is in Montreal!! Sadly, Fred doesn't have a computer... but who knows? Maybe through songfight one day we'll hear a full Boon Liver reunion.. and all five fans can .... wait...four, four fans can ...no..no, it was three... anyway, there will be much rejoicing.

Hey, you're clever. Yeah, isn't that cool though, huh?Tonamel wrote:Well, that's interesting. Sounds a lot more ethnic than I would have guessed. Certainly not like reversed Italian, anyway.
[edit]now I realize you took it literally. Which is what I meant, but on the finished product. Oh never mind...[/edit]

As it turns out, though, I did A&A instead, so we barely averted splitting the "Dave Owen" vote. Heh.
