Take five strings off and call it a whamola.

NO.

if a bass guitar is OK, a baritone guitar should be OK... or bass guitars shouldn't be OK. upright bass should be OK, though.

I'm prepping for a camping trip and trying to get a week's worth of work done tonight and tomorrow ... so what I'm trying to say is that unless I'm uber-inspired, I probably won't be able to whip up some coverart before leaving Saturday morning. doh.

Ouch. Guitars are my backbone. :?
You guys have seriously pushed me in new directions that are really making me try things I've never thought much about. I can say it has helped me evolve. Like it or not, this is a great challenge.......for me at least.
The title has great molding potential too. Hope I can do it justice.

NUR EIN!!!

I wanted to express my appreciation to Niveous for organizing this thing. You contribute so much to the songfight community with this and the other things you do like your top 200.

I'm already looking forward to next year's Nur Ein but I know it depends on your largess.

So, thanks a lot Niv and keep up the good work.

Title: No One Else
Challenge: No guitar (bass is okay)
As if the Bovine Recyclery didn't already totally remind me of Ben Folds Five (a very good thing).....

I keep thinking of the Weezer song No One Else , but modified to be sung over Big Bottom by Spinal Tap. Hopefully Frisbee doesn't have these songs polluting his mind.

BTW that's one of my fave Weezer tunes I've been known to cover

anyone ever here Soundgarden cover "Big Bottom" ? it's fantastic!

Also, notice a similarity between the remaining contestants and the guitarists mentioned on this thread :

http://songfight.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3741

This challenge is cruel, is this some kind of Parker Street Cinema conspiracy? (actually not so cruel with the permission to play bass.)

What if I bought a Lute?

I concur. Niveous does not get the thanks he deserves for all this. I certainly appreciate it.

BoRe is in. Like soon-to-be-stale bread in a toaster with heavy delay. Written and recorded all tonight. Time for studiolessness. Zonk!

I'm feeling sentimental, lately. Magenta is the color of my true love's hair. Hey, the sun's up. Holy crap, when did that happen?

Hope this'll work for you, Niv. :D

Niveous, now that you're back from vacation, don't forget to update the Nur Ein blog with the round three results and the title/challenge/etc. for round four.

Round four is going to be very interesting...

Now that I've forcably ejected/rejected my original idea for this song from my head, it's time to sit back and let the muse and caffeine take over.

GO MUSE GO!

(in other words, i got nothin'.)

Hmmm... should I submit this week? All I have is a crappy skirmish that I did back when the title was announced; I suppose I could elaborate on it.

Ya'know, instead of doing all the things I should be doing.

Ah, I get it now. You're going to hate this.

Especially after this.
