friggin' awesome, that's what it is!
My turn! Too late for this week's fight by a mile, but I finally got the whole thing to gel:
noah mclaughlin - love me a little bit more
edit - refined mix 2/1/09
i asked my woman, what do you need
i asked my woman, what do you need
just love me a little bit more
you can take what you please
i told my children, you can have what you please
i told my children, you can have what you please
just love us a little bit more
oh daddy, please
i asked my neighbor, what do you seek
i asked my neighbor, what do you seek
just love me a little bit more
i will have what i need
do you hear that keening - our dreams to us call
do you hear that keening - our dreams to us call
if we love them a little bit more
we can have them all
a grand celebration is in the wings
a grand celebration is in the wings
we will love just a little bit more
our praises we sing
we are the ones we were waiting for
we are the ones we were waiting for
we will love just a little bit more
we will find what we're looking for

I recently recorded a silly ukulele song called "I Love Brunch":

I also recorded this cover of "Santa Monica" by Everclear this past weekend, for BLT:

It's not much like the original.

I know, I was blown away with the choice of key Lunk went with. Almost like a Chris Isaak Vegas lounge kind of thing. I'd love to hear this version on an easy listening radio station. It's really quality enough to go straight into a radio play list rotation.
Thanks again, Sammy.

My thoughts exactly... in fact truth be told, I downloaded this song based on what you said. This rocks.

Here's a little valentine's day project I put out this morning. Three tracks including a Gilbert and Sullivan arrangement for the banjo, a brand new guitar rag, and a cover of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" (OR IS IT?!?!?!).

Well, I ignored this for ages, but I might as well release it to the general public:
my new album.

Hey Mark, I just listened to the first few songs and yep, it's my kind of shiz, so it's now on my ipod. I'll give the whole thing a solid listen later.
I still haven't had time to put an album together, but it's coming. I just don't want it to be full of SF title songs. I want to write a few other songs before I'm happy to put an album together. Also, most of my SF songs that I like need to be rerecorded and/or remixed.

Don't get your hopes up, BLT, it's mostly gut-wrenchingly depressing and poorly-performed... although it does sound better through headphones, so I agree with your method of listening.

Oh, dang Mark - I forgot to check for those drum tracks. Do you still want me to try to find those?

I've given up working on this thing for now, but if you come across them in your travels, sure, let me know.

Ha, I like this. I think I'll never tire of Mad Dogs voice.
One thing that made me laugh is how the "air" noise goes away after the 3rd (I think) chorus, and then comes back. The only reason I laughed is because of the shit you give me about detail on photo chopping. I do like the air noise in and out for the quaintness, but the sheer delight of giving you shit makes it wonderfully awesome.

Good call, BLT. I should have either left the ambient sound in the track all the way through or canceled it altogether.

No No, call me B. The only people that call me BLT are my Mother and her gynecologist. *budump bump*
....not sure what that means.

That's weird. I thought the only person that called me "her gynecologist" was your mother!

So you're that guy with a collection of her pap smears in your refrigerator.

Chris, that's gross.
Anyways. I got a new Shure SM58 today, so I decided to record a song that I wrote about six months ago.
Corporate Conscience
Oops, forgot to reverb the vocals. Guess there'll be a remix coming soon.

Sounds good, Jon. A few plosives. Just a simple foam cover helps. If you are using a cover, then you need to get lazy with your Peeez.
I'll always love the warm sound of the sm58. I'm sure the day will come that I spend the money on a "good" quality condenser mic. I have a few now, but I don't like using them, so I just keep using the mics I'm comfortable with. sm58 for vox and sm57 for amps.
