Looking for some immunity? Well, guess what. There is none. It's all about the music from here on in.

Nur Ein!
I know what I want to do for this. This round is going to be fun.
EDIT: Woo hoo! My song is written.

If the matter's any way open for debate, I say Ross should have immunity. He wrote the best song of the first 3 rounds ... there should be some little extra perk for that.
Anyone?
Edit: just saw Niv's post in the other thread .. So .. uh ... ferget it.

If the matter's any way open for debate, I say Ross can jam his immunity up his arse. We're at the pointy end of the competition now - things are getting serious

Hey!! Check my new website!!
http://texbeaumont.com/
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/tex
(something tells me I should have Googled 'Tex Beaumont' before claiming it as my new name)
This is totally weird - that Tex records for Heartbreak records - my backing band is "The Dirty Hearts". And by golly - listen to that sound bite - that Tex even sounds a bit like me. Spooky.
But this is also totally unfair. Tex Beaumont is my fair dinkum porn star name made up from pet/street names (ie. Tex the cat and Beaumont St, Newcastle, NSW.). How dare somebody else use it!

I don't think I like the sound of "jam...up his arse" and "pointy end" being used in the same post. Did we just enter the "Who's Got The Conch" fight?
BTW - I think your Tex photo is much more attractive than the one on the other guy's CD.

I assure you I was only referring to your arse metaphorically (it's less poofy that way) - and the fact that we are now at the 'take no prisoners stage'.
BTW - I'm in like a villain

I'm in for round four. I wonder if anyone will know who I plagerized.

We have stolen music from a judge. Where HE got it is a matter between him and his own conscience. Also multiple lyric grabs from multiple sources.

I'm in. Two sources plagiarized. I just looked at the list of 11. This should be a good fight!

so...ten left.
How many get pulled this round? Has it changed from the original intent?

I'm pumped to hear these ones, even though I probably won't recognize the plagiarization.

Ok, so as I sail away from songfight island.....
I had a great time in Nur Ein! There were elements of it that made it more enjoyable than the usually weekly Songfights! (which I already love) and I think pushed me to a better product. The non-optional challenges were really interesting, five days was intense, and having a panel instead of a voting public made it interesting as well.
Congratulations to everyone who advanced to Round 5!
Thanks to the judges for putting in the time, thanks to Jolly Roger for starting the thread. I'd love to participate again in a similar sidefight in the future (Nur Andere Ein!).
I'll be watching the fight and look forward to casting my vote in the final round.
Nur Ein!

I've got say that I hoped the time frame would get longer to allow for more work on these songs.

So I was thinking my song was done on Sunday, but upon re-listening to it yesterday I decided it clearly needs more work. I've been tinkering with the mix this morning, and lo and behold, I've actually IMPROVED it! There's hope for me yet, maybe.
A final version will be in place well before the deadline. Nur Ein!

My creative juices sort of dried up as I was making my entry for this week, so my song, though complete, feels a little incomplete to me. Even though I did my best to polish it up, it may be my time to leave. That, however, is up to the judges -- NUR EIN!
By the way, this competition has been extremely enjoyable and challenging and I'd like to sincerely thank everyone involved in making it possible (Jolly Roger for the idea, Niveous for basically everything else, and of course, the rest of the judges). A lot of quality tunes have been produced in this sidefight and it's been very fun and exciting thus far.

New songs probably won't be posted until after 2 as the office has a meeting with one of the higher-ups.
