We stayed part of the time in Reykjavik and part in Akureyri, with lots of day trips into the countryside. I did not eat hákarl or notice it being available anywhere. I was, however, surprised (and a little shocked) to see minke whale on the menu a couple of times; I didn't eat any of it, either.

I hope you guys had an amazing time! I was there last year, but didn't go up to Akureyri--we flew into Reykjavik and drove up along the south coast until Jökulsárlón. I didn't eat any whale either. But I did have some hákarl! It was horrible!lichenthroat wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 11:27 amWe stayed part of the time in Reykjavik and part in Akureyri, with lots of day trips into the countryside. Maybe hákarl is the sound you make when you're trying to get the taste out of your mouth?

This discussion reminds me of a fun frankie big face song from Nur Ein III Round 5 "Whale":

EDIT: I forgot, he did two songs in one that time. I'm talking about the first song of course, not the second one.
EDIT 2: Dang, that was a great round of songs!
