hey, thanks. that's an unpopular opinion. we're hoping to do 2 more aads over the winter break.

No, really, it does sound decent. I just was lazy getting it on the web. I posted it at lulu.com. I think it's pretty good and I stand behind it. It took about 22 hours. I was verrry tired at the end, as evidenced by track 8- recorded after I had recorded and mixed the other 7 songs and was short time. By then it was about midnight, and I got up at 2:40 the previous morning. A long but rewarding day.

Yeah, this is how I felt at first, but the sign-up was instantaneous (none of that confirmation / here-is-your-password email garbage) and so far Tony's album is good. Seriously, it takes longer to playlist all the tracks of his AAD than it does to sign up.

You may enjoy http://bugmenot.com/ , a site where people share signup passwords. It worked for lulu.com.

Yes, but according to the official records, you are getting annoyed about the wrong thing. Your thing to be annoyed about is... lessee...

*checks the records*

Okay, here we go, your one thing to be annoyed about is... waitresses who forget to bring out the maple syrup at IHOP.

GAWD I HATE THAT BUTTERPECAN SYRUP I MEAN REALLY WTF

only because i'm feeling especially benevolent this morning and it's pouring outside....

lonely moonshine
hauntingly beautiful recording. terriffic use of the rhodes.

my 2 baby girls
hehe. back to the poppy future boy. nice vocal doubling. cute.

cavity
silly with funny lyrics. the repetitive keyboard riff fits well too. i'd almost move this somewhere else if you stream it as it sounds alot like the last one.

seaman is dead
another gem that really shines with the use of the rhodes. you sing and play it well. this is another that works great with the sparse arrangement, but could work well filled out later too. your singing is really nice on this. did you use any autotune here?

ice skating
the words here make no sense to me :) it's like demented mr. rogers.

so you want to break up
this is warped. you are a warped man (i think). again, great use of the rhodes for the tone and mood.

dopey soap
for some strange reason, this makes me think of waiting for guffman.

even if you go away
very nice. this would make a great closer. really shines with the doubled vox.

hoidle
what the hell is hoidle? is it like a dreidel?

make me mutatinous
"make me mutatinous marhmellow mush....". hehe.

resolutions
laughing out loud right now.....

one more
if you make a CD out of this, you should make this the hidden track at the end. after even if you go away.

one cool observation. it's obvious that you stuck to just the keys and vox, most likely for time considerations, but some of these could really be fleshed out into really good tunes. this is a nice little set that is all the more impressive for having pulled it off in about 8 hours. great jorb!

i am curious as to the order you recorded these. i'm curious if you felt the songs got better or weaker as you went along.

I also did an AAD the last day of the previous year. it only took me 4 hours to do (2:30am-6:30am on 12/31). After my first attempt to create an actual rock album earlier in the evening, failed miserably (while trying to actually sing), I’d say fuck it i quit, but then decided to just make 20 minutes worth of song to sleep to. so here:

Songs for the Dead - 7 songs for dreaming

also, Tony am listening to you AAD righ now, and it rocks !

track 4, "a little was a lot" is really fucking good, given the circumstances...
one of the best song from an AAD I’d heard so far.
lonelybobby's "Lonely Moonshine " is also up there in the list.

Thanks, Dre. Yeah, track 4 is OK for only 3 chords. I wish I could sing better. I pretty much did an assembly line process- wrote songs, did guide guitars, bass, drums, vocals, extras... I wish track 8 was more of a song. Oh well.
I picked a bad time to listen to dre's AAD. It is my first day back at work in 2 weeks, and I have not been on my usual work sleep schedule. So the atmospheric textures of this piece are making me long for my pillow. Which I left somewhere on new year's eve. Fortunately, I have a back-up. 4 hours is an incredibly short time to make 25 minutes of music. You pretty much have to just hit record and hope for the best. You certainly achieved the effect you wanted with this AAD!!

hey, is your web host provider at http://www.kongbalong.com on a 56k connection ??

danm thing keeps buffering every 4 seconds...
the 1st track sounds preaty cool, from what i can make out of the short 5 seconds clip, before it buffers.....
now that i think about it, it might not be your host provinder, but the Thousands of people curently streaming the songs, as their curently flooding your ISP's bandwith :) (please don't take it the wrong way)

as most people can tell from my songfight entries, am not a big fan of 2nd takes, preaty much 1 practice shot, and then record.. and alot of the time, i was playing along while recording, making it up along the way.
all songs are 2 guitar tracks & 1 keyboard track.
ahh sweet dreams...

No. This is kindly temporarily hosted by mighty Starfinger. I might have screwed up the m3u of course, seeing as I have no real idea what am i doing there, so that might be making it slower.

You could always not stream it.

yeah, J$'s opus was bringing my server down.

Seriously, though, this might have been a bandwidth issue at the server farm, as this has been known to happen in the past. Most of the time it's fine.

The other possibility is that remixfight was really popular last night.

Heh. Actually it's an instrumental, which seemed the campest option possible :)

As for the streaming, I listened to it all the way through twice, once last night and once this morning and it worked no problem. So may I suggest less whining and more rocking to the Paws? :)

J$: TOCO is an awesome song, but the whole album is great. "That ain't Rigor Mortis!" I really like the mix on this album.

Thanks! I was pretty pleased with the feel of it as well. It's weird that my production for an entire album when rushed in a 45 minute session at the end of 17 or so hours on the trot is better than when I have a whole week to work on just a single song, but I felt that about the 'Knob Gag' AAD too. I always was a contrary soul :)

Bwahaha, that's funny. This is the last song I recorded and was on the verge on not being able to sing anymore because my voice was fried from alcohol, lack of sleep, and lots of singing. I find it baffling that all of that caused my voice to sound like it might have been auto-tuned. I guess this means I need to record all of my vocals after staying awake for 20+ hours.
jack shite wrote: i am curious as to the order you recorded these. i'm curious if you felt the songs got better or weaker as you went along.
I don't quite remember the order I recorded them in and I'm not even going to attempt to remember. I only know that Lonely Moonshine was first and Seaman Is Dead was last. The middle is all a blur. As far as quality, I think it varied depending on what came out of my fingers at any given moment, which is to say that progression of good to bad does not parallel the order they were written in.
