As far as trying to submit a song while I am at work, This whole thing could not have possibly come at a worse hour. This is my busiest hour I have in my day.

Having said that? I freaking pulled it off.

Posting it here in the unlikely event that the upload failed.

<a href="http://glenncase.songhole.org/content/s ... 3">"Prayer for Pancakes"</a>

I hope that she won't make
her famous coffee cake
It's something I can't take

Her biscuits and gravy taste
Just like toxic waste
So I pray she makes

Her Pancakes

Her waffles have big holes
and smell like dirty toes
I have to hold my nose

Her muffins are so hard
They almost broke my jaw
The only thing that she makes right so far is pancakes

So I pray she makes her pancakes

ROCK!

<b>Prayer for Pancakes</b>
by Feldspar

i'm down on the ground collecting sand
there's nothing written on my hand
just want enough to make it last
don't mean to be an iconoclast

this is my prayer for
pancakes to fall from the sky
this is the only time i've got
to play this game of do or die

this is my song for
pancakes to carry me through life
and though idealism is vice
i seem to think i'll be alright

this is my prayer
for pancakes to fall from the sky
this is the only chance we've got
we either sink or swim
we run and fall or else we win
this is the only shot we have
to make the pancakes fall out of the sky
this is the only time i've got
to play this game of do or die

M'out. Mac crashed and hadn't saved. Damn.

was a 3 piece a cappella over weird drum loop

Dear lord
I want pancakes
Lovely pancakes
and lots of them

Dear lord
I want pancakes
wonderful pancakes
and lots of them

I don't care
If they come with syrup
Honey and lemmon
Just lots of them

A cup of coffee
wouldn't go amiss Lord
A cup of coffee
To wash them down

---
Still never mind eh. must save save save. Wail.

Well done the troops! and congrats

here are mine:

when you're getting ready for bed
don't forget to bow your head
breakfasts don't come for free
and you know you're gonna be hungry

pray for your pancakes
pray for your pancakes
pray for your pancakes

Am I the only one who's a bit worried about an influx of really bad techno entries from a bunch of overweight gaming geeks with Casios?

Here I was thinking you were using some funky effect or something. Go figure!

GOOD JOB everyone. I think it's awesome that we had this many people who were able to submit songs under such a short deadline.

ROCK!

Puce - Prayer For Pancakes
Lyrics:

Let's have a prayer for pancakes,
They truly have the hardest life,
They're cruelly drowned in maple syrup,
And then cut up with a fork and a knife.

Let's have a prayer for muffins,
What did they ever do wrong?
Why did you have to kill them,
When you baked them for so long?

Let's have a prayer for pancakes,
Let's have a prayer for pastry too,
Let's have a prayer for all the baked goods,
That get eaten by me and you.

Let's have a prayer for pancakes,
They truly have the hardest life,
Why did you have to kill them,
With your fork and your knife?

aaah, aaaaah,

some folks like waffles, but not me
i'm a pancakey man
of all the breakfast foods that i know
pancakes leave 'em in the sand

between bacon and sausage, i don't know
i guess i like bacon more
but it's kind of a moot point
it doesn't matter when i've got pancakes

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon bakin' powder
1/2 teasponn salt
1 or 2 eggs
one tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 to 2 cups milk
and two tablespoons of melted and cooled butter, plus unmelted butter for cooking, or use oil, optionallyyyyyyyyyyy

---

Recipe is out of How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman.

One thing about pancakes that you all should know, is don't overmix them. Combine the wet and dry ingredients (no, combine the dry ingredients and then add the wet ingredients) and then combine them and then walk away. Don't develop gluten in the mix (like what you do when you knead bread). Pancakes aren't meant to have developed gluten. Thank you and good night.

Greetings songfighters, Mad Dog of # here. I have been monitoring the world wide pancake attack of the show activity from a secure location high atop the Terminal Sales building in downtown Seattle and I can only say I am awed by your professionalism, resolve.and commitment to a worthy culinary and musical cause in these dangerous and uncertain times. So many songs written in so little time. My hats, and I admit to having many hats, off to you all. With songfighters like you, one day the world will be secure for songfighters every where! I have listened to all the entries and must admit that I am now very hungry. Gotta go eat....PANCAKES!

Why is there a full minute of silence at the end of mine? Probably something I did.

A sneak peek into the Hostess Mostess process: deleting the weird minute of silence at the end = "mastering". Not enough time this time around.

Any enterprising fightmaster who wants to chop our file to size (about 39 seconds, I believe) is welcome to save their precious bandwidth for actual musical content.
