i was offended by the mention of Thundercats more.
I remain staunchly a Transformers fan.

hey, you can be both!
though Optimus Prime would still kick all the Thundercats asses every day of the week without breaking a electron-sweat

This is getting worringly off-topic, landlubbers.

You might say it's getting... piiirated?
Tranformers' badassitude outweighs that of pirates by like... a metric badass robot.

Now here's some real irony -
"Kids today requiring more sophisticated fun
Fuck the Jolly Roger, they want robots and big guns"
(johnny Cashpoint, Pieces of Eight)

Yeah, I mean, in our defence, the topic was pirates.
But in an effort to steer this ship (you see what I did there?) in the right direction, I offer you this:
The Secret of Monkey Island (PC, Amiga)
One of my favourite games of all time and a high point of the now-defunct graphic adventure genre, The Secret of Monkey Island sends wannabe-pirate Guybrush Threepwood on a high-seas adventure full of romance, intrigue, and vegetarian cannibals... and monkeys... and giant cotton-swabs.
Basically, it's great. A+

I don't really know where to express my concern that every avatar in this forum seems to be losing an eye in alarmingly fast succession. I want to disavow any ties to this eyepatch in the avatar thing. I put on this emo eyepatch when fightmaster requested us to reduce the size of our avatars. I'm no pirate. I am strictly tilt-a-whirl in politics and metaphysics.

Thundercats rocked because they had an abundance of pirates- Captain Cracker, Captain Shiner, The Berserkers....
(Plus they had the Snowman of Hook Mountain, who may not have been a pirate but still kicked ass.)
Transformers had the Seacon space pirates but they were crappy. Why couldn't they have a bot that tranformed into a pirate ship?
Winner: Thundercats.

I'd just like to give respect to sausage boy and Caravan Ray for their avatars. I never actually got to play Monkey Islands in my yoof, only watch it over other people's shoulders, and I feel a part of my childhood is missing for not having spent hours in front of that particular game as it defines our generation's humour. And Dread Pirate Roberts is just dreamy....I hope one day he saves me from the clutches of an evil villainous toad (swoons)
