Forego shaves and haircuts, and you can take Blue's spot, Chris.

Quick request: Can stueym and I have seperate sets? I know we're from the same family and all, but we do pretty different music. So that'd be handy. Thanks.

bjam: that should be fine.

at this point, if you've made overtures about coming in this thread, we can accomodate you. if you have made committments in this thread, we will certainly accomodate you.

if you haven't said anything yet, we're pretty much full for both days. we've already received close to 20 committments to perform.

Yikes!, hope am in there, cuz am definitely planning on attending and performing.

EDIT:
Jack, it’ll be great if you could put together a preliminary list of the acts that have been confirmed.

Thanks.

So how long are sets going to be on average? I've started planning mine and I'd like to know how many of these songs will fit, so I can get my arrangements to my co-conspirators in time.

"If everybody plays an hour, we'll be here all night,
So let's all go two and it'll be alright!"

- WTF, King Arthur

(which is currently being rewritten along the lines of:

...here at Songfight high and dry,
So grab your dancin' shoes
And turn on K-C-U-F,
Radio Santa Cruz...)

i'm thinking 15-20 minute sets with minimum changeovers. that's 3 per hour, times 4 is about 12 acts per night.

keep in mind that you might also have the opportunity to play in someone elses band, so there's the possibility that some people (like blue for instance) might end up playing half the night.

all of this, including the overall format, is still open for discussion.

If you want consistency, shouldn't that be a list of bands, not of their members? (i.e. "Octothorpe," not "Spud")

Seeing as how this is about set planning and not about who is available to play for other people. Some of us are in more than one band after all.

yes, it should be. but i have no official confirmation that there will be an "octothorpe" set, especially as it looks like mad dog will be awol.

will glenn and rachael want seperate sets? beats me. but bjam has told me she and her pop want seperate sets. so i listed them that way.

i'm not a mindreader.

Yep, that's all I do, complain complain complain. Every post I've ever made on any thread? Complaint. I'm never making suggestions or asking simple questions or hoping there's a simple way to make things more understandable.

well, you did complain about the venue, and now you're complaining about a simple list i posted for chris.

i seem to be able to do nothing right in your eyes. :)

I did not complain about the venue, I actually was cheering the fact there was a venue and then I was just pointing out that there was no alcohol. I later clarified that I don't care one way or the other about alcohol. I am sorry if this was not clear.

After that I did not complain about the list you posted for Chris. I merely pointed out that some aspects were unclear because, although I did not exhaustively read it, I did notice that some people were listed under individual names when they normally only perform under the auspices of a group, and I was concerned that perhaps the list was a list of attendees rather than a list of sets. Again, I am sorry if this was not clear.

My first ACTUAL complaint is that people seem to assume the worst about me and my intentions, when due to severe wrist problems I have a hard time doing the typing I NEED to do, much less spend the time to write out in excruciating detail every aspect of every sentence that I am writing with the intent of making it completely clear. I wish people would be a bit more generous in their perceptions of each other.

I saw it, but I'm under a lot of stress and in a lot of pain lately. Plus phpBB's smileys look like assholeness. So forgive me if I have a hard time being amused.

I can allllllllmost confirm my attendance. I do not have plane tickets reserved yet, but let it be known that it is more likely that I will attend than it is not likely.
