I think that if you feel the "smooth" deep down in your soul, and the album that your song of choice is on was produced by the same folks who produced anyone from the YR episodes, it should fit well.

That's just a suggestion.

And Air Supply is pretty smooth, but is also an "Arena Rock" crossover band.
Tough call.

And Just because Loggins is on the list, doesn't mean that "Highway to the Danger Zone" should be covered.

Put me down for "What a Fool Believes" - I don't care if it is the most mainstream of the yacht-rock tunes! I like it.

You should check out Self's cover of this song, performed entirely on children's toys...excellent (as is the rest of the album).

Seriously, anyone who covers Toto or Kenny Loggins songs, even in jest, will go to hell. I opine that although those songs are awesome in their own right, they came from the Pop era of H&O's career, and are neither Yacht nor Rock. How about one of their late 70's hits such as "Sara Smile," "She's Gone," or "Rich Girl"?

That ditty is 80's soft pop, so it can't be in this fight. But it would be great if you could find a song! I bet the other songfighters could help make recommendations for your style and range. Keep in mind not all songs that were in the show are qualifying songs. (No Tull, no Van Halen, no Dre, etc)

The album cover lists every intsrument or toy played. Some of the instruments were child-sized actual instruments, which may be the case with the drums.
