By the way, this happens to me with myspace when listening to bands. It seems to have started about the time they switch to their new player. Also youtube freezes my computer now too. I can watch about 5 vids and it freezes and sounds like a skipping record and the only way to close it is by holding the power button on my computer. I'm just assuming it's because the internet has advanced beyond my processor speed on this particular computer. IE: 933 MHz Pentium 3, lol. I do have 1024gigs of ram though, whooptyfrickindoo.

Odd, I thought P3s were limited to a gig or two.

P3s actually support 36-bit addressing which makes them technically capable of dealing with up to something like 32GB of RAM, but most motherboards and operating systems didn't support that.
With 32-bit addressing, though, you can support up to 4GB of address space, which generally means 3GB of RAM + 1GB of MMIO.

I have 2 sticks of 512 in my Comaq Presario. Do you think maybe it doesn't use it all?

That means you only have 1GB, so unless you're running Windows 3.1, you're fine.

I just noticed a common thing on site that freeze my computer. Any time there is Flash or a mixture of Flash and non Flash ads, etc.

In that case, if you use Firefox you might find this helpful:

Cool, thanks Jast. I've started using adblock, which works great and speeds things up. So I just added this Flash blocker. It's cool because it leave the F logo on each flash item and I can unblock just the ones I want, like the player. I haven't tested to see it it eliminates my freezing problem yet. But damn, the pages load in a flash....
...umm, no pun intended.

I see that some people had this problem a while back, but I effectively have two music archives: one for "Noah McLaughlin" and one for "noah mclaughlin." I think JB (very graciously) starting spelling it all lower-case late last year some time but it's only recently that I caught on to the discrepancy. Anyway, if everything could be consolidated to "noah mclaughlin," I'd much appreciate it.

JB had nothing to do with it. The names are cut and pasted from your emails. You changed it yourself some time back. However, I have fixed it.

To the disappointment of anyone looking for some really great archive cuts, ADD has this same problem in spades.

Thanks, Jon. I have taken the liberty of grouping all of them (with the exception of the collabs) under "add", which Jefff seems to be using most often lately.

The Proposal listed on
http://www.songfight.org/archive.php?so ... pand=false
02/21/09 - 03/03/09
Green Eleven
07/05/07 - 03/14/09
The Proposal
02/10/09 - 02/20/09
We Keep Them Alive
It looks like the song was from 2007, but only showed up in the archive after 2009-03-14 occurred. The end date should be corrected so it shows up in the listing properly.

I'm not sure if you missed the whole thing or what, but for the record
"The Proposal" was a special event that happened over this past weekend (3/14/09-3/15/09), in which Song Fight! adminstrator and bankroller JB briefly hijacked Song Fight! to propose to his girlfriend Dorie. The entries were all done by friends of JB's upon his request, plus his song, which contained his actual proposal. There was no real "start date" because of the nature of the "fight". My theory about the start date assigned to it in the archive is that it most likely corresponds to the date that JB and Dorie first got together, but that's just a guess. You might want to check out
the review thread for all the info. Also it got mentioned on both
http://www.bradsucks.net and
http://www.frontalot.com, which explains the 181 votes. Hopefully their fans listened to all the songs. Also it looks like MC Frontalot's fans really couldn't figure out which entry was his this time, I guess just because he was singing and not rapping. Usually he gets a gajillion votes even when he tries to use a pseudonym.

For those of you who haven't been following along in your programs, let me explain.
Dre's problem here is caused by his inconsistency in the band name that he uses to submit his songs. Most of the time he submits as "Andre was here at midnight", but occasionally, he submits as "Andre Was Here at Midnight". Note the difference in capitalization. In case you think that this is something that WE are getting wrong, the name is cut and pasted from your emails.
Due to bad code design, the archive thinks that these are two different bands. OK, so why aren't there are two pages, then? Because the search key, which is all lower case, is the same for both, and one overwrites the other, so in his case, he ends up with only those songs submitted under the lower case version.
I am not likely to fix the code any time soon, so if you want all of your songs to show up, it behooves you to always use the same spelling and capitalization of your band name in the body of your email when you submit your songs.
I am sure I have written this post before.
SPUD
Oh, by the way, dre, it's fixed. You are now officially "Andre was here at midnight"
