On the hosting front, this seems like another really opportune time to give a shout out to THC who's doing the provider work for my someday to be released website. I have one but I'm working on some content now so I'll link that at some point. Anyway, the experience has been great and he's really easy to work with and very customer oriented. Anyone who's interested and doesn't already have their own webpage going or is thinking of changing providers should without hesitation give him their business. Competitive rates, exceptional customer service and he's a guy that is trying to realize his dream of never working again.

As I have already told Paco - this was my first prefence on the list I sent to Ken. It has always been one of my favourite songs - though my recording of it is pretty bad (and just for the record - the whole 'beastiality' thing was my wife's idea). Paco was an obvious choice to do it. I have always got the sense from Paco's songs that he seems to approach music with the same sort of attitude that I do - though with far greater technical ability.

I've done very few covers in my time and am finally moving forward on the request list, with poor old SpOOn up next. Point being that this is a great, and fun, exercise for me that hopefully others will enjoy also.

(MY FRIENDS who's dreams have been realized... but it's not about 'never working') Whats weird is that I've known the owner for years, worked with him at other jobs, and occasionally do work for him now, and just found out recently that he owns the building that our band last played and is about to play again. The Pegasus Lounge. He's their landlord. ha.

You're not stepping on toes Hoblit. I'm definitely all about free enterprise and competitive captiolism so the more options people have the better. I was just saying that for my money THC (The Hip Cola for those who didn't know who I was talking about) who is part of the SongFight! community is someone who I think deserves serious consideration. Having run a couple of successful busniesses with my wife, I know how important word of mouth can be. I also always prefer to throw my money and business in the direction of someone in my community than somewhere else. I didn't know anyone in my local community that provided this service so when I turned to this community instead, I was more than happy to do business with him.

And his service level has not been a disappointment for me. He's answered every stupid question I've had, and there have been a number of them, and physically taken control of the situation when I couldn't fix a problem on my own. In short, top notch customer service is what my experience has been.

Can you post a link Dan. I Google THC and came up with tons of sites, but no web hosting called The Hip Cola.

I just got back from the pub where I played live versions of Steve Durand's Far From Sucking and Glen Case's I Thought I Loved You, with a view to posting recordings here - but my cassette recorder stuffed up.

Oh well - sorry guys (the songs went down very well BTW). I'll have to try again another time. My band is playing in Newcastle in a few weeks - I might get a chance to have another go then

Cool. I'm hoping to get set up better with a digi studio soon in the near future. But right now it's all I can do just to record the title songs. I had a little learning experiance while recording with pro tools this week, so I'm getting into this whole computer recording thing. I'll probably have to take a couple weeks off from the fights to learn how to do it right, but I think it will be worth it.

OK - these are dodgy, filmed very early in the evening when the crowd was just arriving and more interested in hooking in at the bar and drinking all the bloody beer I was paying for, rather than listening to some fine original music. Also, I forgot to check where the camera was actually aiming - I only just made it into shot

Even though I'm a die hard rocker, your stuff always blows me away. I love hearing the original, then your version. Very interesting and the sounds are arranged perfectly. Good job.

Oh yeah, you stuffed up the lyrics pretty good. I found it pretty entertaining none the less. I guess that song must be fairly boring to play on the guitar with only the two chords.

The audience there seemed real interested, didn't they.

Yes - a shame that - it was the wrong time/place to play that song. A more intimate venue is needed. It worked much better when I did it at the pub the week before.

Though the video doesn't show it - the audience at that time was about 200 adults at the bar with their backs to me and about half a dozen 2 to 5 year-olds sitting on the floor in front of me just staring up.

Thank you very much for that great cover of "I Thought I Loved You".

If memory serves, Chad and Justin probably played bigger parts of writing that song than I did, but it's one of my favorites that Drink Drank Drunk ever recorded, and it seemed like a song you would do very well. I was right!

I've sent links to Chad and Justin so they can check enjoy it too, but I wanted to say thanks, because you did a great job.
