looking through old pictures this weekend, and i found a pic of the ottoman we had when i was a kid. the thing had great wheels and i used to run and jump on it and fly across the room. after seeing that pic, i finally found an angle to write about. my songs does not explicitly mention an ottoman, but it's about the time when the house i lived in had one. this was the hardest title yet to get a handle on, and i had about a half hour last night to write it. i hope i can find time to record some version of it tonight.

edit: looks like i'm a death pod now. special.

I finally decided to write/record a song for this crazy thing. I am having a problem getting it from my recording device into my computer. I sincerely hope to get it figured out tonight. I actually like my ottoman song.

It will not be about lolcats, nevada, hoover dam or istanbul.

I finally decide to jump back on the bandwagon and it's looking to be the monster-forty-song-fight. One other songfighter already told me not to bother entering my song because I'd be "schooled" by "his song". Well I got news for ya buddy, I got a drum kit and a couple ribbon mics and they're sounding sort of the way I want. And an Ampeg B-15R, bitch! And Carvin X-60s cranked up! I mixed in about 15 minutes, at midnight, and that bass will shake stones from your gallbladder.

"Schooled" like the way the ottoman got schooled by my feet for hours. Hours... Days, even!

Wow. I sent my song in a few days before I left for St. Louis, and now I'm back - where are the songs? I'm not complaining, but I find it kind of funny that it would take that long.

Does it usually take this long?

I'm all racking up second doubts about my submission now

Lost that rush of getting the song done wed night in one go, sending it off haphazardly and basically unedited

regrettin'

yeah, it usually takes this long.
but that's good.
get used to it.
personally, i like the break.
to me it seems like there are usually about three fights a month.
so relax.
the larger the fight, the less reviews are posted, usually.
or people post the first ten or so alphabetically and never post the rest.
that's why i like being close to last in the alphabet.
i have a feeling this one is going to be pretty big.
remember: you don't need a songfight title to write a new song.

I'd like to disagree with both statements.

I'd like to complain on behalf of everyone else because they didn't get to hear our song yet. Poor souls.

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZtttt. I am prepared to defend the crappiness of my song, even though I feel it is a stunningly brilliant piece of work.-----------------Im actually looking forward to the next one more than anything.
What I like the most about this group is how diverse it is, and really, no one genre seems to really rule it. bbbzzzzzzzzzt
